Ninagawa likes to use this word alot, to mean something like patient endurance. And alot of his protege actors and actresses pick it up and use it similarly. While not incorrect, this modern usage seems to be a prime example of his know-it-all superficiality. His disdain for the Russian version of Hamlet because the actors were middle-aged is oh so shallow.
