  • this is a badass exercise and I've been doing it for years. Kudos for doing it with 22.5lbs in each hand, pimp.

  • Drop 1 dumbbell and hold the other behind your head if you actually want to increase resistance. Just holding it out to the side does little more than stroke your ego.

  • @sub7design come back when you have 12 years of natural bodybuilding experience..

If you didn't understand, that means get the fuck out.

  • @sstslayer So that much experience is needed to do complete BS exercises eh? Is that when I can squat on a bosu ball and do step aerobics too??

  • @sub7design You're trying to tell a professional bodybuilder what to do with no credible knowledge yourself.

It isn't a complete bullshit exercise, you weren't even saying that in your initial comment so don't even trry, you were talking about hand placement, which shows no evidence of being any better than what he was doing, it's his personal preference.

So don't try and say he does stupid shit like squats on bosu balls, because the exercise itself was never the main point in your comment.

  • @sstslayer A glute hame raise is an excellent exercise. A weighted one is even tougher. But it's common sense of weight placement. What's the point? The glute ham is a posterior chain movement. His hand placement doesn't add shit to that movement it is a challenging isometric hold for the upper body. It's like doing a bench press and a leg extension or a squat with curls. It's stupid and doesn't benefit the main movement. So yes it's like doing a squat on a bosu ball.

  • @sub7design You're almost right. Extending the arms out to the front (overhead) would increase the length of the lever, increasing difficulty greatly. Try doing a GHR bent at the waist, easy right? Now do a straight one, harder? It's a longer lever.

  • @sstslayer Stop being so fucking whiny and annoying. Let me troll in peace, asshole.

  • @sub7design because you asked so nicely? fuck you tosser, you haven't won any bodybuilding comps, you don't know shit, you just jumped on /fit/ one day and thought you learnt it all. Not every fucking exercise has to be by the book. For all you fucking know he enjoys the resistance his arms have to give to keep the weight in place.

  • @sstslayer Waaaaah waaaah wahhhh. Suck his dick all you want, it's a stupid exercise that will be forgotten for it's worthlessness.

  • @sub7design How the fuck is the glute ham raise worthless? Are you to fat and/or weak to do them?

  • how the shit did you do this, I can't even do a single GHR and I'm light as a feather

  • Way to be inventive! I've been just tucking my knees together on that small ass seat at the lat pulldown to do my GHR. This is SO much better of an idea, thanks Layne!

  • I am void of all emotion when I enter, lift in, and leave the gym

  • Don't be the grunter

  • why not just use a smaller weight instead of holding them down by his knees ?

  • hey i lifted at that gym the other day!

  • layne is too legit to quit bitches

  • thats pretty raw

  • Will you sign my posterior chain lol

  • Go layne!

  • layne is a freakin badass ...brb watching inside the life of a natural pro again.

  • very strong man, subbed

  • Hmmm, A douche bag can lift? That's interesting. Would you fill the bag with water and then douche it to move the weight? is that how a touche bag lifts? Perhaps you can tie it around the weight?

I'm quite puzzled by exactly how a douche bag lifts. Interestingly, it appears you don't lift since you have no videos of yourself... just like every other single person who talks trash.

  • hahaha. So let me get this straight. Because I am animated when I lift; that makes me a bad person.

Your basis for moral evaluations is fantastic.

  • :O:O Sweetjit, i think you've got a crush on Layne ...!!! wow Layne, you must have some seriously strong hamstrings! very impressive man!!!

  • @biolayne does that hurt your knees? Just curious cause i've never tried this but it looks like it would kill my knees.

  • very impressive!

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!

  • Layne, that is one of the most amazing exercises I have EVER seen. I'm just on my way to the gym to do legs, and thought I'd scan YouTube for some inspiration; I found it. Excellent videos. Will start adding front squats as well. Keep up the good work, big guy. -BigLittleTim

  • I'm weighting 285 pounds and do glut ham raise is fucking hard !

  • Nice. Never seen this before :)

Might try it the day i become strong enough ;)

  • that was fucking impressive!

  • Layne you're a monster! How much can you leg curl?

  • i'm gonna be like u in terms of bodybuilding layne in a few years time, the knowledge, n ofcourse the physique, ur one of the few people i respect, keep it up man

  • holy shit bro!

  • Very impressive but it's alot easier if you do it without weight, lol j/k

  • That depends, if he put his hands overhead, it'd be harder without weight than with it.

  • Layne Norton IS A GOD...BEST ALL NATURAL BODYBUILDER EVER!

  • Awesome.

  • impressive, imma try that out, only wit 10's in each hand though...

  • That is just sick man!
