Apparently he hung himself, although reports are saying it was an accidental suicide, possibly strangling himself to feel a rush/high (as suggested by PJ Stock).
He was found August 31st, in his apartment in Toronto...
@Leaf16nut. I hear you. It will be an eye opener for the NHL, Because Belak's passing is a huge loss for NHL and the most important one. Thanks for putting up the video. Good Collection of Clips you put together. Thanks for putting in the part where Don Cherry was upset for trading Belak away for nothing i was upset :( that day too he was traded. Burke would of never of done that. I commend you for the video you put up and celebrating belak's life. :) Thanks again for putting it up. Great job!
Remembering The BELAK Chants at the start of the video..... nothing can compete with all the fans chanting his name...........BEEEEEELLLLAKK BEEELAKK................. He will be missed. Was the best in Toronto. NHL and NHLPA better get more involved with players helping them through there depression. George Laraque and other players to get involved in helping younger players with depression. Its a start!!!!! The players need help NHL, NHLPA Wake UP!!!!!!
If nothing else this summer will be an eye opening experience for the NHL, and all contact sports around the world for that matter... It's just to bad it had to come at such a grave expense.
I just can't see what else would drive somebody to commit suicide, especially because his upcoming life seemed so bright and he seemed so happy about it, not only job oportunities but with his family as well.
Wade may not have shown his depression, and unless he took the time to write why he ended his life, which I hope he did for his families sake, we'll never know.
thanks for this vid ....go preds!!!!!

Well sadly what we all know Wade as, isn't what he was like...
The videos of Wade only fighting dosn't do much justice for a tribute, he was so much more and that's what I tried to show. Wade deserves it.

Have some respect; arguments and hatred will be deleted. This video is intended to celebrate and honor the life of Wade Belak...
If we only understood depression better. RIP Wade.
