Pat Brown was in sort of a hardcore punk group/gang of people called the HB Wolfpac and they'd go around causing mayhem and destruction. The name "Jack" they're using in this movie is actually a homage to jack grisham from TSOL, who was a big time thug/surf punk. Pat and Jack were good friends and used to do all kinds of mayhem. One of the HB Wolpacs attacks styles was using their classic cars with steel bumper to plow through people. In fact they did this to some metalheads back in the day.

Add to the the pure 80s nostalgia and the great bands and well someone like me considers this movie fuckin great.
