  • WOWWW!!!!

  • How did you make that drawers with the lego pieces on them?

  • @totallypayton

The drawer system consits from each 2x3-drawer units.

This has been sold by IKEA under the name "MOPPE".

They discontinued this - pretty masive - model some years ago and invented a new one with extreme thin plywood instead.

The marking was very easy: I used a 4.8 mm drill bore and a Lego technic peg fits in this hole. So I used mostly 2x2-bricks with a fixed pin and put the diverse elements on top, which are in those according drawers.

    S.

  • O.o

  • Awesome

  • Why don't you make your room like a complete lego (i mean you put your hole walls in legos) xD

  • how long did it take to organize those legos

  • @13mwill

Have not count the time. Whenever I break down any model, the parts are sorted away.

If I had to start at zero, this might take weeks.....

    S.

  • Give me every Lego peace that you own!!!!!!!!

  • it will be funny when there will be a earthquake hapening XD

  • @fingersk8er719 I would not call that funny. :-( Lucky enough my region appears to be pretty safe: - no earthquakes at all - no volcanos - no flooding to be expected due to landscape - no bad neighbourhood..... - no toxic industry - and no nuclear facility around (as far as I know) S.
  • @Stiegsfeld Sorry for that if you felt a bit sad I' m really sorry.

  • @fingersk8er719

Earthquakes are not funny in my eyes....

However - Your comment has obviously not been meant as an offence and I have not understood it like that.

    No need to feel sorry.

In fact I understand that I would get a million clicks in YouTube when my room would be mixed up by an earthquake.

    S.

  • @Stiegsfeld ok,.

  • dude if i was living in your shoes i think i would very very happy

  • Du hast echt bestimmt ein paar Tonnen voll in deinem Zimmer!

  • how much legos do you have?

  • @MrJuan9807

This is in fact frequently asked..... My database says it should be roundabout half a million bricks (collected over many many years)..

    S.

  • @MrJuan9807 By the looks of it he has no legos as that is a pasta brand... He does heave heaps of lego though

  • there r more legos in that one room then all of brickfair

  • Eine sehr schöne und gewaltige Sammlung. Diese Menge...Was man damit alles bauen könnte...Auch sehr schön in Minute 0:25.

Naja, wer will, der kriegt! ;-)

  • 16?

  • how old are you?

  • @tivop17

I am pretty old: in my 40ies....

    S.

  • your rich i know it

  • @legosoldier64 If you are by chance born 1964, you may understand my choice(s) - these have been my favorites at the time I bought them: 383 Flatbed+Excavator (1973) 810 Gears (1974) 851 Tractor (1977) 8860 Car Chassis (1980) 7740 TEE train (1980 - but bought not earlier than 1997) 8851 Pneumatic Excavator (1984) 8880 Super-Car (1994) 3451 Sopwith Camel (2001) 10020 Santa Fe (2002) 10190 Market Street (2007) 10194 Emerald Night (2009) All time favorite may be Super Chief. Leg Godt! S.
  • u should make a video of u destroying them and crashing the place! :)

  • ups ftw

  • Absolutly Incredible!!!!!!!!!!! Love the trains the most!!!!!!!!!! Must have cost you thousands!!!!

  • i want it :(

  • @mart7inkas

Sorry but this is not for sale at this moment...... ;-))

  • i like all your cupboards with the different pieces

thats a very good idea then you know where everything is and you can find the specific bit you need for a certain project

    one question

whats the biggest thing you have made

  • @Whizzer1

Thanks for your comment and feedback!

Using transparent boxes and copboard shelfes with example pieces on the front is in fact very helpful to find pieces quickly.

With a growing collection the sorting and storage of pieces is under constant reconsideration anyway..

The biggest models may be the roundhouse and the big tudor style manor house.

And there is a 105cm ship (search "Greundiek" at Brickshelf).

Train cities - including many buildings - are of course the biggest "model".

    S.

  • do u ever make stop motions with them?

  • @1kyle66

Never did so. I do not own proper camera equipment nor good software.

And my building time is too short anyway. So I have never testet stop-motion.

    Beste Regards,

  • one word I have to say: gsninvgfukashicSHDfjkadsghfzksbfcjdsbcdkszkfdshy

no not really but just, plain WOW!

  • HOLY CRAP! THATS A LOT!

  • THUMPS UP IF LEGOS ARE ONE OF THE BEST INVENTIONS CREATED

  • @BBallPLaya345 Not really.. its just pasta.... LEGO however yes best invention ever!

  • @NicoAndArthurShow

No I am not working for LEGO. However - I had the chance for a 1 week work practise 3 years ago. That has not been a paid job though.

But I am an engineer by profession and earn good money in my job. So buying LEGO is not so much an issue for me.

Anyway; thanks for your comments here and on further videos. Appreciate feedback like that!

    S.

  • 2:50 .....

  • please never delete this video!

  • oh my gosh! you have really cool and old sets.

  • @diego40254

    Stiegsfeld

  • And i thought i had lots of lego......

  • AWESOME lego room!!!!!

  • nice where did u get the bricks in the boxes just one colour per box

  • @Legoracer101films

The assorted bricks have originated basically from sets, which I have bought and parted out. Some other bricks are from visits at Legoland and Lego flag stores, where loose bricks are available.

    Stiegsfeld

  • @Stiegsfeld thanks

  • What can I say - I am jealous.. :P nice work

Any chance you can tell me the name of the song !?

  • @ekstc

    Thanks for your feedback!

The Song is by "FINK" a German independant group from Hamburg (split since 4 or 5 years).

The title is: "[Hier kannst Du mich finden, ] Wenn Du mich Suchst"

    =

"[Here you can find me], When you are in searching for me". (word-by-word-translation).

The CD cover is shown on the tale in front of the CC-houses at 3:28.

    Regards,

    Stiegsfeld

  • I love the lego room and still have some of my lego as a kid. and my children left their lego after college still here. garywittmann

  • @garywittmann

Thanks Gary for watching my video and leaving your comment!

I had a look at your web pages and was amazed about your wide portfolio of interests and experience you share.

Being a (semi) professional story teller sounds pretty cool. I spend half my life with reading books so I appreciate the art of storytelling!

As a sidenote: please do not sell your kids LEGO: this can wait for grand children. LEGO bricks never lose their worth but can contain so much memories....

  • @simmiist

    Moin Moin!

  • I just love all your work.

You inspired me to come back to lego 8 years ago when i saw your old abs-site.

Please share a video of your updated room with the trainlayout.

I'm also in the proces of making my own layout.

    gr FreeBee

  • @2bfreebee

Thanks for your kind words on my small you tube video and the old "Ben's world of ABS" homepage, which I shut down nearly 5 years ago.

Due to trouble with my Canon Ixus I could not create a new video of the room as it is today, although I had the intention to do so during the new years break.

Yesterday I ordered a new camera via amazon and will for sure test that in the next days. In result an update should appear pretty soon.

Obviously not in my Lego room but in my bed in the bedroom.

This room is only devoted to keep my LEGO and for a little PC working place (mainly for surfing 1000steine com and brickshelf com).

    Leg Godt,

    Stiegsfeld

  • @themanofmen196

The black-white-red one is a roundhouse for steam engines (with a turntable in front of this).

The gray-black-white building is intended to be a manor house amd part of a horse breeding farm.

There used to be two larger side buildings to create a u-shaped court.

If you know Brickshelf, look out for "gallery cgi 1286322" and you will see the buildings as displayed in a exhibition.

(The manor house got broken down and rebuilt smaller in the meantime).

    Best Regards,

    Stiegsfeld

  • so where do you build at? Is there a foldable table in that room? Do you carry bins into another room to build?

  • @olabashanda

    Hi!

Partly I build on the small "tables" (protruding shelf boards) in front of keyboard and screen.

Larger structures are often enough built on the floor.

Neighbour rooms may be considered as well as a small table on wheels.

It always depends on the size of a model and the time which is needed to finish it. (My wife will not accept LEGO bricks in the living room....)

Anyway: the room got layouted completely new some month ago. A vid shall follow shortly.

    Stiegsfeld

  • echt nice^^ will net wissen wieviel geld da drinne steckt^^

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwww!

    cooooooooooooolllll.

  • HOW MUCH LEGO PIECES DO YOU GOT

  • @Zeeck2003

    615855 elements by today....

This database calculated sum may include some ±1000 pieces in tolerance.

  • got legos?

  • got legs?

  • @HALONUGGETS

Yes I have got legs. Exactely 2 of them to walk... ;-)

And I have got LEGO bricks as well. Some think I even own to much of them.

    Stiegsfeld

  • @Stiegsfeld my opoligies i meant to say legos because the signs at our schools that say "got milk?" and you have billions of legos which makes it sarcastic like

    HALONUGETS

  • @HALONUGGETS

I saw, that you meant LEGOs. I was just kidding - no offence intended.

Of course I missed the link to "Got Milk?", since this campaign is not present in Germany, where I live.

    Have a nice X-mas time!

    Stiegsfeld

  • @Stiegsfeld Germany? beutiful country, did not know it was germany so they did not have that campaign there but the point being is the video is awsome.

  • Do you have lego

  • HOLY CRAP HAO MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR ALL THAT?!

  • @chachi248

First: this is not crap, but only excellent LEGO® (grin) ;-)

Second: I am in the hobby for 15+ years now. A smoker who needs 18 cigarrettes a day would have burnt a similar amount of money in the same time. That should give a rough idea about the money I spend on my hobby.

    -

In the end this is not expensive. The LEGO is still there and could be sold for maybe 50% of the money I spent. And my lungs look definitely better than the ones of a smoker.

  • @koolaidportal64

Thanks a lot for that nice feedback!

If you would like to see more pictures for that A380, go to Brickshelf com and serch for either "A380" or folder "197209".

    Best Regards,

    Ben

  • Yeah, that looks very nice.. But please, be sure to create something of all the bricks that are waiting there in those boxes... go create and make more of those beautifull things!!!

    Greetz LegoSjaak

  • @LegoSjaak

You recognized my weak spot. ;-)

I spent so much time into my career, that I now can afford to buy any LEGO set without caring about any budget. But in the end I have no longer the free time to be active in my hobby....

There are many projects on my mind, however I lack the time to work on that. Nevertheless I will for sure create new models from time to time - anything is prepared for that.

    Best regards,

    Ben

  • @Stiegsfeld

Personally, i now have a good balance between free-time and the money i earn, so i work only 4 days a week and i can spent quality time with my one year old son. I also have time for Lego, but in my opinion not enough....

But i love to build with lego and really relax when i'm building! Have a look at my City... it is pretty large and i can also buy lots of Lego, although i have a budget,....

  • o-m-g 8-0

  • how do you build those trains are the sets or is there insrtctions or just homebuilt

  • @zeldafan10199

These trains are partly old trains from LEGO (they constantly had a train line from 1966 on).

The "nicer" (aka. more detailed ones) are "homemade" by me. These are much more sensible and not created for (young) kids hands. the building techniques are partly very complex as well.

You may find some of them in more detail in my Brickshelf account. Look out for user "Ben". For a limited number there are even building instruction or at least CAD files.

    Best Regards

    Ben

  • @Stiegsfeld you said youre onlyh a little rich liar lol favorated

  • Hey can u ship one of those train sets to my house. If u do thank u very much.

  • UR A GEEK

  • gimme :p

  • WTF!

  • @tuurke8560

There are a couple of airplanes featured in the video:

The "old" biplanes are oficial LEGO sets (Sopwith Camel, Red Baron Fokker, Wright Flyer)

The DC3 and the Ju52 propeller planes are collaborations withs a friend (nicknamed "eastpole")

The A380 Airbus in UPS design is a self created model as built together with my 11 year old nephew.

  • WOW! Your lego collection is awesome! Which lego pack is your oldest?

  • @odonellmanila

I remember that "Set 653 Ambulance and helicopter from 1973" has been the first ever that I personally got a s a present. My family owned already some Lego from the 60ies but basically loose basic bricks.

Today I have several train sets in the collection, which have been released in 1966 to 1970.

I own single bricks (without tubes on the bottom side). Those are at least 55 years old.

But the focus of my collection is in sets 1990 to 2010. Trains sets are my favorites.

  • umm i have to ask you something do you play with any of these lego cars i seen all the lego train and can you make a lego city stop motion or how you spell it i allways wish to have a big lego city and stuf like you do like make and lego city and the trains and tracks in the road like any city :)

  • @toonlink501

Thanks for your message - I would love to arrange most of my models for a kind of rural landscape setup as I did in some past LEGO club events. However even if I have the LEGO storage room - that is not prepared to store AND display. And there is no other spot in the house for that.

Second issue is time: my job makes it easy to buy any LEGO, but I find rarely time to create own models, even the less to play and run the trains. I prefered the creating process since ever.

    Stiegsfeld

  • Gotta Love the knobs on your drawers!!!!!

  • Love that big plane and love the knobs on your drawers. :)

  • how munch legos do you have. Please ruply

  • @ytteverson69

Voila! My statistics tell me, that I should own roundabout:

    - 0.63 mio bricks in total

    - 820 unique sets

    - 1450 sets in total (some sets I do own up to 30 times like straight track)

    - more than 200000 bricks have been purchased as loose bricks on secondary market (most of them being new bricks).

    - no idea of worth of collection - a BMW convertable would outbid my hobby costs easiely though.

    Siegsfeld

    (born in 69 as well)

  • Very nice set-up. I have a question, the box that you had the Chief train and box cars in, what set is that, can you give me the number, I have been collecting for about 14 years now, but I do not recognize that set.

  • @brickplumber

That box is from the Orient Express theme which LEGO had around 2002.

The set is named officially: "7419 Dragon Fortress"and contained 732 pieces. In fact I own by chance a further copy of this set in MISB condition.

I bought this in late 2003 when the new blueish greys got introduced. In my first anger I had the intention to stop buying new sets....

(And sorry: I will not sell this precious now).

    Ben

  • @Stiegsfeld : Thank you.

  • well im very gelious wish i had that much lego

  • Your creations are amazing, you're an absolute genius! I loved the train sheds!!! I am also obsessed with Lego, but I don't have nearly as much as you! Please check out my channel, once again, you're models are amazing!!!

  • @TheEd32

Thanks a lot four your very kind words regarding my LEGO models.

If you stay obsessed with LEGO you will surely have a time in your life where you have a lack of time and space for too much bricks which are waiting for action....

BTW: I just checked your chanel and the Coke machine: That's a nice and clever creation!

  • Your collection is amazing! Wow :D

  • men jesus were you from i wanna go to your house to create the most big lego city

and i call like you jesus write me

Vielleicht liegt es eher an Deinem Musikgeschmack? ;-)

  • REALY NICE!

Check my lego collection vid on my channel to! :)

  • JESUS HOW MANY LEGOS DO YOU HAVE

  • @TheThomas64fan

My list notes for today 840 different sets // 1819 sets in total and in sum 610614 elements (which of course will have a tolerance of possibly up to ±5%). :-)

  • I thought I had alot of Lego, I prob have a third of what you own and I struggle to keep it all in order. I have almost every star wars set and like to build m y own modular sets. thanks for sharing your collection.

I have made some animations with some of my collection if you would like to have a look.

  • 2:18, love those drawrs, i think i may try that out!

  • hope their isn't a earthquake at your place....and your lego creations are AWSOME!

  • You have really huge collection of legos but i really like also things what have you build especially houses and trains.I have been for many years a lego hobbyist too, but i still haven't build so amazing lego things in this vid!

  • @Jeppelin

Thanks for your kind words! I checked your YouTube channel and realized, that I am nearly 30 years older than you are. If you stay active in the hobby you will have best chances to build all the models, of which you only dream about today ...

Good luck and fun with your bricks!

  • damn youve got a lot of legos dude you must work for the lego company.

  • did you build the UPS plane as a MOC?

  • @Prazjum

That UPS A380 was a kind of "speed build project" with my (at that time) 9 years old nephew. We bult that in only one and a half day after some pictures as found in the internet.

The quality of that model is not as advanced as the other stuff.....

At that time the real A380 was still in trouble and UPS cancelled their orders a while later....

  • @odejj

No I'm not (compared with average people around).

Compared with an average person in 3rd world we are all rich.....

I am just for 25+ years in the hobby and collected a lot.

  • WOW!And i was thinking i have lot of legos.Das war echt super!

  • @Jeppelin

Thanks for your feedback and greeting to Finland!

    Ben

  • dude you have the worlds most lego or something.

  • @Legomania009

Definitely not: I know a lot of people who own by far more than me. But I have to admit: I own more than I ever could have dreamt of as a child.

  • @rocketmanket

I fear they have never had any contract to sell CDs in the US. There are a handful of Videos to be found at Youtube.

My favorite among those might be "Ich kümmere mich darum" - but that is basically due to a very ironic lyric.

Fink have always been quite a insider tip, but I have seen that band more often playing live than any other. Some of these sessions had only 100 people as audience. One of their CDs was limited to 2000 copies. It cost them years to get rid of those...

  • @rocketmanket

    Thanks for your feedback!

The Song ist from a German Band "FINK" and named "Wenn Du mich suchts" - German for "When you are looking for me".....

Unluckiely Fink has come to a an end two years ago. Singer Nils Koppruch is now active with solo projects and paint art.

  • Amazing!

  • I'll pay you rent if I can live in that room....

  • Dude that is a awsome lego collection!

(Make a movie of all your trains! :p)

  • There are no words to describe what we have seen in this video. This is just breathtaking!
