It produces more thrust when set up like that, even though it is the intake gas still comes out of it too like the exhaust, just not as much. By having them the same way you are using the otherwise wasted gas from the intake.
How big is this thing? Can you tell me the diameter of the u-pipe and combustion chamber? I can't find anything that gives a ratio of size, like 40% bigger or anything like that. They're just bigger, and varying lengths, and that doesn't really help me at all.
Heh marshmellows just blow away in the 600 mph exhaust :D However I did cook some shiskabobs behind the engine, cooks them in about 20 seconds flat and the shockwaves tenderize the hell out of the meat :P
If you get the metal extremely hot it will start to lose strength and become very easy to flex and bend. Part of a cycle the engine is at lower than atmospheric pressure it can cause a section of the engine to squish flat. A tube will squish flat much easier than it will explode or rupture.
@BeckTechnologies hey, how do you regulate the temperature cause i know it gets crazy hot and the metal can flatten. could you make a cooling system that sprays a coolant on it or run pipes along it? or is the only way to keep it at a low throttle?
Well its not a great idea to run them at max thrust for a long time when they are sitting still, but they can take the lower throttle levels for a very long time. When the engines moving it will get cooled by the air a lot.
Any really sudden change in color or brightness is probably the camera adjusting the gain and exposure, or picking up the light differently since it is otherwise dark out. The slow changes in color and brightness are from throttling the engine up, at the start it is a dim red, and near the end it is almost white.
i think its time time to give back chuck Norris his hair dryer back.

What gauge is the metal

How can it produce any thrust when the intake and exhaust are facing the same way?

Very fast gokarts, boats, anything that you want to push very very fast.

@MetallicaJunkie or cruise missles

ok but what will hapen of u max thrust for to long while its sitting? Will it explode? Oh how does the fuel burn in pulses?

Will that ting overheat coz it seems like the combustion chaber is glowing white hot?

dont get me wrong this is an awsome engine but it is posted atleast 8 times and it shows no propultion.

You do know these powered the buzz bombs in WWII, right?

Similar but different.
These don't have the reed valve like the V1 engine did.
