  • "bad day" that's ridiculously harsh...her voice is a very unusual mix of husky, relaxed tone and very soft falsetto that is still under control. The sax is the off note here. Spoils the mood and she does well to keep on beside it. Nice idea but didn't work. Kathleen's voice does not crack. Some harmonies are lacking that would have given a rounder sound = IOW the accompaniment is the prob largely

  • @plemochoe - well put! I love Kathleen's voice as it is. I'm a huge fan of Fraser Fifield and have follwed his music for more than 20 years... I tend to agree that the sax didn't work. When someone pushes as many boundaries as Fraser Fifield does - some are going to get pushed to far.

  • Sounds like they caught her on a bad day... her voice seems to crack here and there, and having heard other things by her I know that's not normal for her. The recording quality is less than stellar too... it sounds like it's clipping at really low levels and it's muffling the sounds. Too bad. Oh well, such is youtube.
