I am terrified, and fascinated by Morays. My husband encountered two that were agressive towards him when he was diving, but it seemed they were only warning him to stay away from thier territory. The story of the eaten thumb really scares me. ICK!
i am a diver from greece! i had a moray or "smerna" as we call it attack me. luckily it was really hurt and couldnt fight me, but even though i had a metal spear through its body it still attacked me! now i know ppl who have got bitten by one and its not pretty! it will not let go until it has cut off a finger or smth! so next time u dive, i suggest u stay away from them!
you shoot the eel with a spear, and then when he attacks you in retaliation, he is an aggressive animal? You sound like a dickhead- in fact, I would like to see the eel fuck someone like you up- you deserve it.

they are not aggressive but dont try this with any eel or youl be in for a surprise, piss one off and it can rip a shoulder off
