is probably the video card. is getting too hot and is starting to fail. this happens because the fan can't cool down the graphic processor anymore. Eventually, if the videocard gets too hot the computer will be useless especially if your computer is older than three years. The solution is to open it and clean the fan for all the dust that accumulated there while you used and is a lot of it. If you don't do it it will break at some point in the future.
i haven't had this problem, but then again i played yesterday but not today. my theory is maybe this has something to do with SOPA protest stuff? i know LoL has some kind of campaign against it, so maybe it's an indirect result? i know its a wild theory but still...lol. idk what to tell ya, if restarting computer doesnt help, maybe reinstall game? i imagine thatd take forever though and hope you dont have to do that :( good luck getting it running properly :)
My brother has a toshiba Laptop that does this to him he also gets an error called bug splat. He never said if he found a way to make it not go black tho =(
@TetchyTact i bought this exact same laptop the problem is the hard drive. if you have your laptop within the 1 year manufactuarer warrenty you can send it in and they change the hard drive free. also up the ram to at least 8gb to get faster performence.
Are you new to computers or something? 1) your gfx card is fucked 2) something wrong with your gfx drivers (reinstall) 3) something corrupt in your LoL installation (reinstall).

What OS are you running, I was having a similar issue with vista because the new flash doesn't support it anymore
If you have vista, you need to update to 7, worked for me!
