  • Thank you for your simplicity in preparing these carrots! I didn't want to add any seasoning and or dressing to mine e.e

I wanted to keep it as simple as possible!

  • Ya know, I don't remember ever having carrots as a side dish growing up. They were only cooked when they were in a soup or something like that. I don't think I've ever cooked them myself. I'll have to give this a try. Thanks!

    Pam

  • Thank you for making a side dish! I have never had these nor have I ever thought to do this with carrots. I will be trying this tomorrow night for supper now. Thanks again.

  • exactly how i make 'em too ;-)...yum

  • i like cheeseburgers :)

  • hey kid

  • i don't love sweet veggies, so carrots aren't my thing unless they are in chicken soup and coleslaw. but i like your videos... preferably times three. :)

  • I love your pans!

  • @MakeupLuck Thanks :) I really like them myself. I've been thinking it may be time to upgrade but... can't justify it! They are still in really good condition!

  • beth its just better for you. I think its tastier also. I hope you enjoy it when you try them this way :-) try the same method when you make sweet potato mash also its heavenly but add a little cream to them LOL

  • @beth it really brings out the flavor of the carrots. I also add a little sugar free maple syrup as they are cooking. they are sooo yum my girl eats them if i do them that way otherwise she wont touch them

  • @Fitange Oh, I like that sugar free maple syrup idea too... much better than the brown sugar. Yep, definitely giving it a try!

  • @aohmann It is awesome. Try it with the kiddo!

  • Love doing my carrots this way. Beth add some orange juice to it, it's really nice.

  • @Fitange oh my, that does sound good. SOmeone else suggested a bit of ground ginger and that also makes me smile. I am definitely going to be trying these suggestions

  • I don't cook carrots much but I do love them and like them with the brown sugar glaze on them!

  • @mysteryglo There aren't a whole lot of veggies that I do like to eat--mostly zucchini, peppers, carrots, spinach and corn, so I do eat these things a lot, but only just started adding carrots into the rotation. There are lots of suggestions people have given, and I am going to try them all

  • Well do you think I could use reg sugar with this? Could I use green beans instead of carrots? And can you stack them up and make a unicorn out of them? ;)

Go ahead you can smak me I know you want to lol.

These look really good and I haven't had them in forever. I'm going to make some tomorrow.

  • @Ultimatecruegirl Girl, Imma smack you ;)

  • Ahh - simple. Nice. I'll bet a lot of folk will like this.

  • @thizizliz Yes, lots of good suggestions too!!

  • I like my carrots raw or with avocado. But each to their own! :) haha however, with the calorie content of the ingredients you added i may have a couple of cupcakes instead XD

  • @MissPonderosa I LOVE my carrots raw and at one point my fingers were turning orange haha

  • @CookingAndCrafting OMG YES! At one point I was eating like 5 carrots a day for lunch & dinner side meals and when I went to the doctors they were concerned I had something wrong with me because I was a tint of orange (kind of scared me too) but luckily when I stopped it went away!

  • @MissPonderosa Yes, it can tinge your eyes too. I wonder if t hat is why they say it is "good for your eyes?" I dunno but it's weird how the color will transfer . I am hoping once my garden's dirt is better (need to add calcium), I am going to start growing some!

  • @CookingAndCrafting Hells yeah! Nice and organic juicy carrots mmmm

  • Can you make a video on how to make Scrambled eggs ? Thanks ! :)

  • @KianaLuvsYou44 I can :) Thanks for t he suggestion

  • I love these. Try a bit of ginger in it! Oh, wow!!

  • @wildheart5 I am definitely going to give that a try!

  • I will have to make this...I am sure it is a kid fav... Ok I want to try it too...hehe

  • @DawndeeDALLAS Yep, they are definitely delicious.

  • another vid to my favorites list! :-)

  • @JSKA980405 haha thanks :)

  • I make glazed carrots at holidays or sometimes Sunday meal. I use the baby carrots and boil them like you said then add the br. sugar and a bit of butter. Sometimes I do it in the oven. I cover them though and just let them slow cook. Hugs girlie!!

  • @imperceptibleme I like the slow cooker idea. I need to get a smaller sized one though!

  • This was always how my grandmother made them except she would add cream cherry in it. It really adds a nice flavor to them.

  • @ToriSterling I mean Cream Sherry...my mind is fried LOL Babysitting my husband has me brain dead LOL

  • @ToriSterling I don't know that I have heard of cream sherry and will have to check that out. Is your hubby okay?

  • Love carrots! Brown sugar! Mummmmmmm! Good!

  • @weeknightingale Yep yep yep! There were some suggestions people have given, including adding some orange juice and another was adding ginger. Yum.

  • PEPPER!! BLACK PEPPER!!!!!

  • @dwtlax Oh my

  • thats how we do our carrots in our household!

  • @wonderfulstar08 Coolness!!

  • just had these last night! we add yellow mustard in ours and it gives it a bit of a zip, but i'm thinking you dont like mustard... someone did a gglazed carrot video already, and i already left this comment, and i thought it was you.. our maybe i'm just having some deja vu going on...

  • @fakecrab Oh my, that sounds like it would add that zip, just like it did for the beans. Yum.

  • This is how my mom did carrots!! Love it. She also had a sweet and sour carrot recipe that I didn't keep because it used tomato soup!! I never would try it but now that I'm more inclined to try it I don't have the recipe. I have a carrot souffle recipe that I make at thanksgiving and it invariably winds up on the dessert table!!

  • @jcrefasi1 Sweet sound carrot sounds flippin awesome!

  • These are a classic! Perhaps a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg would be good additions? I wonder if that would make them too dessert-like...

  • @Monchichito wow, that sounds like heading over to sweet potato region woot

  • You can cook carmelized apples the same way - use Delicious apples, or other firm apples that keep their shape when cooked (Northern Spy is good). Just core and slice into wedges, leaving the peel on, and cook in your brown sugar/butter mixture until they are tender and glazed. They are a nice side addition to pork dishes. Glazed carrots are a favourite in my house!

  • @j3wht ooooh SOUNDS FANTASTIC! Will give that a go

  • I've never hear of this but looks nice:)

  • @10NozomiRai10 Thanks-they are!

  • so simple & looks so yummy

  • @Lea2009 yep yep yep they are delicious!

  • I make fresh carrots like this a lot. I dont think I have ever bought canned carrots now that I am thinking about it.

  • @dreamer72fem make it with fresh carrots:D it would taste better, too, probably:D and i totally knew this was a stacey dessert lol

  • @dreamer72fem Yep they are good fresh too. :)) They are cheap at walmart --like 60 cents a can, so canned comes in nice when running shy on time
