will be getting there Saturday later afternoon, planning on going on Sunday as well. This will be the first time attending, not sure what to expect or what to bring. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Yes, that is correct! Fredrik Bjerkegen of Lillehammer, Norway (YEA!) broke the record with a new jump of 130m!
So then why does the Snowflake Ski Club website say that it was Andre Fedheim of Trandol, Norway who broke the record? Typo, I presume, that should be corrected.
If you check the results for Sunday, February 10th 2008, indeed you will see that it was Fredrik Bjerkegen who accomplished that feat!
Everyone should go to the tourney....it rocks! The most fun you'll have in February anywhere!! Head to Westby-hey! Have some Akivedt (spelling might be wrong but it's norwegian booze - it's not good but it's norwegian!!).
I think the Westby Ski Jump event is simply amazing. We are lucky to host this event, and it is really what the Westby area is known for. I am truly jealous of the athlete's great talent, for I have always wanted to learn and try how to do it. Everyone should go watch this event to see it's remarkable athletes fly off a hill, literally. This event, this sport is the most stunning thing to me.
I have been to the Ski Jump and it is a lot of fun. The crowds are great tand the ski jumping is amazing to watch! Just bring a beverage to help keep you warm! Jovanna LAX
I'll be there this Sunday. Can't wait!!

This is a great event and I hope there is a huge turnout this year! I hope this isn't the last year of the jump!

Why no snocross? That is a bigger draw than the jump.

well, it not a part of tradition. maybe after the jump. we put it there to jump, not watch 2 strokes.
