Ugh. 5 1/2 minutes & a sprawling mess. The dialogue could've used some spike & some edge & some STRUCTURE. We see lots of attempting to be funny, yet nothing's really funny. 5 characters in search of a decent script....
Sorry, Asher. Youre a funny guy. You've got some comic energy. But this one is all over the place. The jokes aren't sharp enough; the characters aren't delineated enough. "Cheaters" & "To Catch a Pedator" blend into an unhappy mixture. This is the type of skit that doesn't make it onto SNL (as written) because it's not very funny while you're watching it & you forget it the second it's over.
Hello Willtom, Can you please post a link to some of the sketches you've produced, and/or acted in? I'm sure it would be very educational for those of us who don't know what "Spiky", "Edgy" and "Structured" comedy are.
I don't know about you but "Can you keep it down, I'm trying to have a serious chat on my webcam." is a hard line to beat. Maybe you have some better ones. And there is a 3 act structure to it, but maybe you were referring to a carpentry structure, which you are right, it does not.
Nobody was refering to a "carpentry structure". I'm guessing this must be Asher making this comment in disguise, because the post shows the same broad, lowbrow comedic tendencies as the video does. Asher, stop defending this vid. It was kind of funny, mostly not, it missed the mark, we're all moving on now. This vid reminds me of flavorless runny oatmeal.
I don't mind if people don't like my videos. In fact it's a good thing. I'm happy the people who enjoy my work far outweigh the ones who don't.
I'm not a fan of people going too far with their comments. A lot of your comments are offensive and out of left field.
But that's your right and I'm new this. The bottom line is I'm glad you watched and felt compelled to leave a message of any kind. Thank you for your views!
Ash, I'm gonna shut up. And I've taken a look at some of your other vids. The "Bourne Ultimatum" parody is smashing, expertly put together, has panache & the acting is first rate (the "get in the truck" slapping schtick maybe went on a bit too long), and the "I don't have any credit" (nice camerawork) & "Can we make this kitchen a non-combat zone?" scenes were perfect. Light touch.
