The soundtrack Age of Empires 2 has is good and I would've personally preferred those songs, but the song used works...well enough and I figure since you're fast forwarding that the songs from the game wouldn't have fit the speed of the game. Either way, good game and you played it well. This game was probably one of the best balanced RTSs ever made.

never build farms in dark age its a bad idea, the natural food is there for a reason, and anyways building farms wastes wood and makes your score higher which makes cpu come after you first

ya but no one plays online ennymore i made a awsome campane made four mideval empires one in a forest oak and clifes with mote, another in snowy mountines and forest (took me 3 hours to finish it) third in a vast jungle and swamplands and fourth in a complete deseret with palm trees each seperated with water in the middle of the map with only bridges to cross in each empire lands and each empire is seperated eaqually with the same amounts of resoureces on each empires lands ( took me 2 weeks

terrible, you build 3 houses first thing, set the first vili on wood, after all 3 is done, go to sheep, put 2 villies on wood on 7th and 8thg villi on wood, loom, lure boar. NEVER go farms in dark...

nay...that is exactly what you DON'T do.

Whilst I agree that generally, farms in the dark age are a bad idea, your build order isn't much better than his actually.

If you go by your build order, your opponent, assuming he's built his base the correct way, will be something like 10 or so villagers AHEAD of you by the end of the first couple of minutes. That's an advantage which you won't be able to recuperate. Sure, you'll have more wood than your opponent...

...but because he's got more villagers, he'll be able to recover any losses he might have against you almost instantly.

You ALWAYS want to spend AS MUCH time AS POSSIBLE on food gathering early game. That means minimal walking time, minimal house building time, and minimal defense time. Age of Empires 2 is one of the only games where the population structure (house) is so absolutely ridiculously cheap in comparison to the rest of the game - utilise this great part of the game! Don't...

...start building houses until you absolutely have to! And - assuming you build a mill as part of your regular build order - technically that won't mean you even NEED to start thinking about gathering wood until you've gotten about 20 villagers already.

Here is the build order that I've been accustomed to over the years, and which ALWAYS gets me out on top of the score by the end of the dark age:

Start>V1 to house, V2 to berries, V3 to berries, build max V at TC>House complete, build...

...mill as close as possible to berries using this villager, and set garrison for TC on berry bushes>Once berries have AT LEAST 8 villagers working them, bring all sheep gathered to either mill of TC, and start assigning garrison point to sheep>Anywhere between the 10th and 15th villager created, send one off to clear the trees immediately surrounding the TC to make way for farms in the future>Send 15th villager to cut down more wood near TC>Build house....etc

And away you go...

Effectively, this build order aims to maximise the things that are good about the game, and the general order in which resources start to become important or not. Food you collect immediately, as it's what you need first. Wood you collect a short time after food, because it's also highly important. Gold you don't really start collecting to a decent amount until either late dark age or early feudal age (normally I start during the dark/feudal researching period). And stone, finally...

...you shouldn't be aiming to gather a huge amount of until at the very earliest dark/feudal age research. And even then, I'd highly suggest you wait until the ACTUAL feudal age/mid feudal age before you start designating large amounts of villagers to stone.

And that's why this strategy owns. HOWEVER - once you start introducing military involvement on top of this, it starts to get a little bit more difficult to manage. But this strategy is only a basic, economically-focussed one.

answering to your question setpblock, i don't think it's worth sending ALL your villagers to get gold. i personally send out about the same amount of workers on each job, like 3-4 on woodcutting; about the same on all other important jobs.

at the very beginning(5-8) mins

while during that time, i won't have too much farmer, so should i gather the mines first or the woods first, because if you say mines, i mean, all my men go to mine, not part of them, should i? or just step by step

Hey sept it all depends on what army you want to build. For me i always send atleast 4 villagers to start with to mine gold and 4 to mine stone then build them up graduly from there. You don't need to send all of them really unless you desperately need gold. But what you would want to do really is build another town center near a gold spot and then just create villagers and they can start mining straight from there (also make sure its near wood for more wood).

I usually play like you see in this video but sometimes i change my tactics which is bad. If you want to get good at this game stick to one tactic and become very good at it and you will be almost undefeatable. I would be better and faster but i worry about what to do next alot and forget about things easy. That's why i always get a slow start and get hammered on multiplayer ^^.
