I can beleive a place such OHSU (Oregon Health Science University) experiments on innocent animals like these. Email them so they can stop this practice!. They are the closest creatures to humans and very aware of their surroundings, they can feel pain, they get scared, get sad....stop experimenting on them!

Zoos will only separate the bubs from their mums, if the mums are unable to look after their babies (eg.if the mother is ill, cannot feed the baby, or baby is at risk of being injured or killed by the mother). In this case the mother monkey was having difficulties giving birth. Conchita had to be delivered by caesarean. Conchita was being hand fed, for as long as it would take for her natural mum to recover. :)

Some years ago the director of the largest zoo in Norway and his family adopted a chimpancee baby they called Julius... It was made into a TV documentary series and the chimp beacame quite a celebrity (perhaps more of a a local legend)here in Norway :)

its highly likely that mcdonalds or a similar company clearing land for livestock to graise on has meant the loss of this breed of monkeys habitat. i cant say this for sure though because i havent researched it, but one thing i can garuantee is that the meat industry is the cause of much needless suffering and damage!
