  • Hi if I install a LCD from a DV2000 in this dv4 it would not have problems? I have one from dv2000 which is the same connectors. umm

  • @rponcec I couldn't say. LCD screens are very model specific though.

  • Thanks for the video - I'm not tech-savy at all and your video was really helpful. I was wondering if you had any suggestions, however, when I powered on my comp the screen didnt work. The original screen was cracked due to a drop, but the backlight still lit up, the screen just looked like something Picaso did! I checked the 2 connections, the bottom one to the screen and the webcam one, unplugged and re-plugged them back in. But still no luck. Any thoughts? Thanks!

There should be 2 connections (the webcam is a different connector) one on the back of the screen and one small one on the bottom. If those are connected well it may be a bad inverter which is down by the base of the screen.

I would also test to see if the video out is good - hook up an external monitor to the VGA connector and see if you get a picture.

  • extremely helpful... other videos i've watched on here the person disassembled the whole computer just to remove the lcd...

  • @mrjessesr0102

    I'm glad it helped.

  • Thanks for making the video, do you mind if I ask where you got your new screen and how much you paid ? Thanks again !

  • @popple2000

I got it at laptopscreen com about $80. They were fast and the best price around.
