It's not strictly dixieland, but a very rigid form of New Orleans jazz favoured by such leaders as Bunk Johnson etc. Ensemble playing is the key. Woody is playing in the style of Johnny Dodds and he obviously deeply loves the genre as do all the other guys with him.He is not limited but staying within strict limits as set by the style. You can bet the other guys could also fly away if they wanted but they too are dedicated to the style.
hey hugodraslik. Your an idiot who clearly doesn't understand a thing about music. You do realize that their is a strong distinction between speed and skill. Wait what am I saying, NO you obviously do not.
woody allen is americas greatest living artist.. AMERICA'S. all his styles are truly american.. from his cinema style to jazz.. completely american. any country think they have some to compete.. bring it on.. I have a catalog of ammunition sitting right here.. WOODY ALLEN IS GREATEST LIVING AMERICAN ARTIST. not film making alone and not writing alone and not essaying alone and not clarinetista alone.. but the whole gambit makes him the MAN...
His ok he is changeing the sound, that he want's & the style is his.His deal yeah. There is always an arm chaire expert that knows more.Get your horn & blow.

Oh no he is less than average. For me this is simply pain in the ass only surpassed by Acker Bilk. For jazz, swing, pop or whatever you call those styles those players play I would pick out Artie Shaw,Eddie Daniels and Andy Firth anytime over those two I mentioned. And for Klezmer it's the king of klezmer Giora Feidman and nobody comes even close to him in that music style.
La musique d'hier tout aussi bien que celle d'aujourd'hui. Le Jazz New Orleans de Woody Allen chevelu et son orchestre à New York. La vidéo au camescope analogique sur pied est bien stablemais manque un peu de contraste.
I love that song... it's been arranged to several different styles along the years. Now I hear one of my all time favourite film directors play it in a sort of "folk-jazz" style in the clarinet... What a great experience!
I had no idea he could play jazz...wow, he's actually quite good at it too!

Woody Allen est un artiste complet.
Son secret serait-il simplement son intelligence (des mots, des situations et des... notes de musique...) ?!

Interesting. Woody is only average clarinetist, but it doesn´t mind - and that´s important.
