@mayapadwe yeah it kimda is look up joe bonamassa slide technic he explains the somg its by ry cooter i forget the name but type ry cooter crossroads slide song ull find it
adding to it, I have to say..even though the alchemist gets quite high gain if you want...it probably wont please metalheads much...the tone is not quite tight enough for the style. But that depends on your style of metal too. It definitely takes it cues from the vintage tonalities--it has a sag to it. Blah I dont even play metal but alot of friends from yesteryear do and they always go for a really really tight sounding amp..something that snaps back quick.
Slap me silly for saying this but after sitting at my music shop for about 2 hours...the alchemist ripped the pants off the reissue bassman, the vibrolux and deluxe reverb. The big shock came when I plugged in a tube screamer into the fenders, and it HARSHLY killed the fenders' vibe, sounding quite thin. While the tones were a bit similar (mostly because all are 6L6 amps) the alchemist covered everything with grace because of its versatility--jazz, latin, blues, hard rock, rockabilly,
hey i'm looking to buying a new head i've been looking at engl screamer orange rockerverb and some marshall jcms. i just found this amp. i play mainly punk/hard rock although i am a versatile player does anyone have this amp that can advise me if this can do harder sounds.
i dont think this is the one for you dude,,,when you play em they sound cheap,,,,has that line 6 generic quality , if thats what you like cool,,,,the new bogner shiva is a great amp,,the best ive come across is an amp, by ''the valve amp company'' in italy but there expensive, i know the designer of the orange amps a real tone freak, good amps orange
if your goona get the alchemist you might just a well get the line 6 and save a few bucks,,,hope this helps,,
that's BS. I read the Line 6 vs Alchemist comments around YouTube, so I went to Guitar Center the next day with my Les Paul to play them side by side to see if it's true.
It's BS. The Line 6 amp is for teenagers playing in their bedroom. Very little control-ability, mostly DSP nonsense with cheap construction and cheap sounds.
The Alchemist is a completely different amp. It's a real amp, and sounds that way. Comments to the contrary are pure ignorance. Go play them as I did and you'll see.
totally agree on that, i finally got to do that test myself--and although the alchemist is manufactured and distributed with line 6 in china..its fucking sex to the ears. By comparison, EASILY, the spider valve still sounds like a peace of petrified solid state shit next to the alchemist.
Buyer Beware. Pay close attention to 2 things. 1. its "made in china" not at the USA Bogner warehouse. 2. and the "show me the money" comment by Bogner. Its my opinion that he has whored himself and his good name out to Line 6 for mega dough. Don't be fooled!!!!!! This is essentially an overpriced Line 6 Spidervalve amp. NOT at all worthy of the $ 1400.00 price tag. If you don't believe me just check the warranty info. The Alchemist is warrantied and serviced by LINE 6 NOT Bogner!!!!!!
yeah, the CHINA BOGNERS SUCK just like the Line 6 Bogners. But, I do like the DUENDE, but its not WORTH $2600. Never played an amp i thought was worth $2.6K.
Had a shiva didn't have enough gain, and when u turned up the gain it had a loud hum just like the loud humming you hear. But they are great & a bit pricey
@nickfromdtown1992 - LOL... Thanks! While I do stand by what I said about the Ecstasy - it's truly an awesome amp - I've since changed up my rig to a David Friedman Marsha, with a Port City cab (loaded with Scumbacks)... for me, that's the be-all, end-all of one for me personally! Did you check out the Tone Merchants demo of the Ecstasy 20th Anniversary?
@WolfStatic even though you got rid of my favorite amps i cannot argue, youre current set up is beastly and i envy that one as well. no i have not. i think i might do that now

@RNRDOLL for sure. line 6 has noooooo soul. the alchemist sounds like "what the fuck" good

Try out an Egnater Tourmaster 4100, can cover all the sounds you would need for those genres of music, plus loads more.

Just got one. Nice amp. I wish I could adjust the reverb lenght and it would be nice to run both channels at the same time.

That Duende cuts the nuts out of the Alchemist. I played the Alchemist and it is NOT easy on the ears.

Bogner is way too much overpriced.
They use normal quality transformers and stuff while they should only use the best!

Yeah, but they sound KILLER. I own a Bogner Ecstasy and I dropped $4.5K for the head + cab + tax and it's worth EVERY penny.

Watch that "Made in China" stuff though...don't like the sound of that from Bogner.
Love their amps though.
