  • ooo thanks dude , i didn't know that

  • soo this is the origins of this awesome song ?!?!

  • @Anetheron92

The song in the trailer was "Lux Aetena" which originated from the movie "Requiem for a Dream."

  • This one was memorable.

  • I really do wonder why they used Lux Aeterna instead of Adagio in G Minor as the score for this trailer...

  • does anyone know where you can buy this movie???

  • this is all right

  • This film was mind blowing!!! Great actors, Awesome story and great realisation!!!

  • In love with this movie Great story , Great acting 9/10 for sure <3

  • Can not wait for Danny Boyle to do another sci fi film.

  • this movie was mind blowing

  • "A frozen earth"? Hundreds of thousands of years before the sun dies it grows in size which is why humans will have to colonize Mars. Stars don't burn out, they grow so large and create iron then they implode under there own weight, causing a supernova that would destroy our solar system.

This movie already doesn't make sense but I'll try it out.

  • @akaiYaMa9 There was a mini black hole/ qball inside the sun that was sucking all the energy out. The nuke was meant to blow it out and allow the sun to resume normal function.

  • @akaiYaMa9 paintingpointman said it right... It's not dying in the traditional way... You can search the info in the trivia at imdb if you want. ;)

  • @akaiYaMa9 Actually, is is highly unlikely that our Sun would ever become a supernova, being that it does not have the prerequisite mass to do so; supernovas are much more common with super massive stars. However, you are correct in asserting that as stars near the end of their lives, they expand radically; whether the Earth will be altogether consumed is a matter of some controversy. Regardless, the Earth at that point would no longer be capable of supporting human life as we know it today.

  • @akaiYaMa9 what? ok you're kinda right but depends on its power it doesn't shine forever

  • @Ipuffyy Where in my comment did I say "the sun will shine forever"? and why does everyone and there brother feel they need to reply to me? I get it already, I don't need 5 people to tell me 1 thing.

  • how is it that i never saw this movie?????

    how could i miss it????????

  • Except for a few things, this movie is pretty great.

  • How do you die by drowning about a movie about going to the sun? haha

  • This is without doubt one awesome movie : ))

  • "Sunspotting"

(movie from creator of trainspotting, about the sun?)

  • Heart of Courage by Two Steps From Hell :)

  • wtf?! reigniting the sun? a dying star? where do we live? in smurfland?

  • @DrogeNVictiM hahahaha

  • If you haven't gotten to see this movie, go rent it or buy it MEOW!

  • @evabobevaya Right meow?

  • Well this trailer gives a lot away..

  • A billion years in the future and humans still look the same, very interesting.

  • @Skullking489 you are wrong on two points.

  • Awesome trailer, but for the love of god, people need to stop using that damn song! It's getting so overplayed now!

  • @VJelectro umm .. Please for the love of God , tell me the name/artist of song LOL

  • @Ghangar79 Clint Mansell - Lux Aeterna

  • @VJelectro it's true. when it started playing I was 'are you serious?' ;) do you what it's called btw?

  • @VJelectro true. its like listening to the songbird by kenny g or something...

  • Danny Boyle makes the movies I always have to pay for two tickets ....my first time and second. then I have to buy the fucker on dvd

  • I wish Britain would make more films like this we've had enough gangster films and period dramas

  • @elmateeeo its about funding for this kind of film, and the market is much larger in america

  • I'm assuming there are alot of soundtrack nerds watching this, and this movie's soundtrack is awesome so why would they need to use lux aeterna for the trailer

  • How I didn't see this film:(

  • Cillian Murphy has the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen! Besides, he is a good actor.

  • all this trailer did was make me wanna watch requiem.

  • someone knows whose the song at the end is??? i'm loving it

  • @johanigseb Clint Mansell's "Lux Aeterna", for the movie "Requiem for a Dream". If you haven't seen it, you're missing out!

  • awesome movie!

  • oh my God. now I want to be an astronaut even more.. the best scientific movie so far!!

  • had chance to see in 2007, but saw only today. awsome movie !

  • This has been flagged as spam

  • i love it to fart

  • I can already smell how scientifically incorrect this will be ~_~

  • @ZutaraRaven they had physics professors as advisors

  • @ZutaraRaven

Man, didn't you know? In space, no one can h̶e̶a̶r̶ smell your s̶c̶r̶e̶a̶m̶s̶ scientific inaccuracies.

  • @HungryTacoBoy The part where he screams you would be able to hear him because and space time had been altered due to the nuclear explosion happening .If anything this movie is too dedicated to science and went over people's heads.

  • @ZutaraRaven But I bet you couldn't smell how AWESOME this movie's going to be... except for a "certain" part. Lol.

  • This movie definitely deserves more attention ....

  • One of the best movies I've ever seen

  • Ehm is this the original soundtrack? ....... Cause it is actually from the movie "Requiem for a dream" performed by The Kronos Quartet.

  • @LeavesOfNovember

No it's not the original song(Lux Aeterna) from Requiem for a Dream. It's actually "Requiem for a Tower", the reorchestration of Lux Aeterna that appeared in the original trailer for The Two Towers.

  • I remember going to the cinema to watch this movie, i was disappointed and i have not watched it since

  • one of the best soundtracks ever put in a movie...

  • @WhySoSerious214 whats it called

  • @MegaYoyo911 the surface of the sun john murphy

  • @WhySoSerious214 thanks bro

  • was a good movie but agreed it didn't need the evil supernatural freak to make it a good movie. if anything it took away from the experience

  • @1976jtn 5 times!!!!!! i watched it once and slept like a baby

  • @runnmd well i didnt

  • We are all Stardust. Atheism, fuck yeah!

  • the ending of this film was just beautiful...well, all of the film was beautiful, especially the soundtracks, particularly "Surface of the Sun"

  • This should be the only trailer/film/video that is allowed to use this music other than Requiem for a Dream.

  • This movie made Cillian Murphy an atheist.

  • Best sci-fi movie ever.

  • Haven't seen this yet, but looks great!

  • As soon i saw that the fucking scarecrow was in the movie i knew it would go to hell, hate that actorfaggot.

  • At 1:31, is that the cube from another sifi?

  • Cillian Murphy + Danny Boyle = AWESOMENESS

  • Curiosity = picked. (Never even heard of this. The plot sounds dumb, though.)

  • This movie is sad at some bits, and just amazing throughout.

  • asome

  • Is that the soundtrack of Requiem for a dream?

  • @Beckyepo Yes.

  • @Beckyepo yea, it's not in the actual movie.

  • If they sent Atheists on Icarus One they would have avoided all the deaths that must have happened on Earth and on the Icarus 2.

  • Best movie of the world ♥ I love this movie and I found that not in a Movie-Shop.Where giving there?

  • Best sci-fi movie in last one or even two decade.

  • The concept of this movie is so idiotic that I feel insulted after having watched the trailer. Any man with half a brain with regard to physics will know what I mean.

  • @Verradonairun Brian Cox seemed to like it.

  • @ApertureAce Is Brian Cox a scientist? NO!

  • @Verradonairun err yeah he is actually lmao!

  • @F1Angel Not according to wikipedia, so I must assume you mean "in the movie...".

  • @Verradonairun He means on young Brian Cox a physicist NOT on old Brian Cox which is and actor!

  • Comment removed

  • @OverG88 No scientist would approve of this idea!

  • @Verradonairun Would or not, Brian Cox was adviser for this movie.

  • @Verradonairun Its a sci-fi movie!..not a documentary!

  • @F1Angel Why is it that you won't allow me to have my own opinion?

  • @F1Angel Why is it that you won't allow me to have my own opinion? Just because you disagree with it?

  • @Verradonairun Well could you explain your view to us who have no such brains?

  • Comment removed

  • @789123Y What drives the Sun is fusion power. Now, assuming this would cease; we have no way of transferring a suficient amount of hydrogen ions into the Sun's core or anywhere near the energy required to take the fusion to the next level, thus maintaining it.

And the only reason why the scientist supported the idea in the movie must be that he's jobless, and needed the money. Kinda like the guy on discovery channel talking to us about the potential of making a future lightsaber.

  • @Verradonairun We all know the movie is nowhere near realistic, but we still enjoy it because of good acting work and brilliant directing. Copying scientific text on Youtube videos does not make you look smart, but just a kid who wants to boast with a bit of knowledge about physics. If it really bothers you, don't watch the film but don't ruin it for the rest of us. And by the way, the scientist is a professor at the University of Manchester, and works at CERN.

  • @Verradonairun That scientist works for CERN / LHC. Hardly jobless.

  • Loved the way that this movie portrayed how cruel and inherently unforgiving space is. I know that scientifically there's a bit of creative license but I thought it really added to the feel of the film. You really feel the sheer gravity of the task they have in front of them, and the lengths they would all go to, to achieve it.

  • What a great movie! It’s been a while since I saw it so I forgot that Chris Evans played a supporting role. He’s really a great actor and his new movie “Puncture” really proves it.

    bit.ly /pKWweL

  • all i can say is watch this film on acid!!!!! im not even joking around fuckin cried my eyes out....

  • What is the name of this song? Where did I hear it before? HELP ME!!!!!

  • @floffie96 requiem for a dream thats what it is called

  • thanks :)

  • This movie PINned my BACK to the seat... ER.

  • @Kuupoju I see what you did there

  • Just one of this films, they are unappreciated and it beginning in the future

  • why does it have the music form "requiem for a dream"

  • To die for all mankind, is there a something greater!?

  • @OverG88 its sad to know that the mankind wont die for you though

  • @OverG88 Yeah, not to die.

  • @OverG88 To save all mankind and live !

  • @tikktakkk True hero always dies!

  • @OverG88 To live for it. Dead man in no use in this world.

  • @OverG88 If there is something good in mankind, live for it.

But if there is nothing but bad - then dying is the best option.

  • @OverG88 Yeah surviving it!

  • @Grog85 True hero always die!

  • @OverG88 I beg to differ.

  • @OverG88 no there isnt. :)

  • @OverG88

yes and it is peanut butter! Can you imagine a world without 1???

  • @OverG88 Yeah. To live!

  • Great movie, I like to think of it as a movie about what would it really be like saving your species. Great work Danny Boyle, to bad not to many people appreciated it.

  • Chris Evans was hot. Like always.

  • Way to show us the entire movie..... -:(

  • One of the best science fiction films of all time. It's kind of frustrating because it does so many things so well but has a few ridiculous plot points that take away from the experience. I wish that the whole Pinbacker part was done differently. The character was nessary to keep the tension level in the film high but they should have made him seem more human and less like a supernatural freak. I found the internal conflicts on the ship to be way more interesting.

  • @Nodnarb84

The reason why Boyle did this is to show the awesome force/friction between humanity and religion, (Pinbacker obviously representing religion) at least that is how I like to view Pinbacker.

  • @Nodnarb84 screw that, pinbackER invoked a new catchphrase. All of sunshine was perfect, if you didn't like one part you didn't like the whole thing. Best thing ever. Pinbacker scares the shit out of you when you couldn't be any more scared. And if he DIDN't fuck everything up, then that epic leap wouldn't be in the movie, so suck it butt holes.

  • @Nodnarb84 in what way was he a supernatural freak? he was definitely insane, but it all seemed plausible to me.

  • @Nodnarb84 Nice soundtrack.. thats it .The whole film wasted a good evening. Was the worst and possibly the slowest film i have ever seen.I woke up that morning and it was a particularly beautiful day only to be ruined by watching this film.Cheers

  • This is one of my favorite moves. I watched it last night, and I can't believe I didn't watch it before. x___x

  • ive never heard of this before but it sounds AWESOME :D

  • @LadyPersnickety same i just saw it yesterday and i have to say, its up their with the best sifi space opera movies ever made... it gave a Space Odyssey 2001 feel. true what the guy above said the sound in this movie is also perfect .

  • I'm just gonna take a guess after watching the trailer and say everyone died

  • I just heard the song and pirate bay opened itself......Awsome ^,^

  • WTF. Why does everyone want to rip off Clint Mansell for their shitty trailers? Don't get me wrong, I like this movie, but damn.

  • @rebeccaelder2009 It's not Clint Mansell's song. It's Mozart's.

  • @kistajk

    no it's not..

  • Comment removed

  • @nickmcmahan Mozart's summer overture. Youtube it.

  • What a shitty trailer

  • What's the song playing in the trailer??

  • @xXmonyaka14Xx I think this song is from the saw movies..

  • @Akon7Z It's called Lux Aeterna. It was written by Clint Mansell and its originally from the soundtrack for a movie called "Requiem for a Dream" directed by Darren Aronofsky ... who ironically travels in the same circles as director Danny Boyle (Sunshine).

  • @VoyceOfReason Oh ok thanks :) . But they have a very similar song in the saw movies. But this song is hilarious :)

  • this movie was so good it almost made me believe we can get that close to the sun without blowing up in flames

  • Why didn't they first bomb the Sun with their own payload, and than try to reach Icarus I? I mean they needed the same amount of fuel - one stop one go. That way they wouldn't risk the whole humanity with a detour...

  • @VersusARCH it's a movie. suspend your disbelief, ignore the obvious issues, buckle in, and enjoy the magic.

  • @VersusARCH Because the film would be ended soon.

  • Very nice video! Keep it up!

  • You never lose when you put Danny Boyle, John Murphy and Cillian Murphy together.

  • @AlexPeckFTW yep

  • @AlexPeckFTW So agree

  • @AlexPeckFTW yea...Cillian Murphy, Danny Boyle, and John Murphy need to work together again...at least one more masterpiece

  • @3Axy10Est13 They did do 28 Days Later together (in case you weren't aware).

  • @VoyceOfReason I was aware...I want another, Danny Boyles ew film stars James Mcavoy...Which is a great actor, but i just wish there whould be another collaboration between Cillian and Boyle

  • As Mace would say, "again"

  • @youexxbee thx :D

  • Probably the best sci-fi movie i've ever seen

  • requiem for a dream music.

  • it wasn t bad in IMO I thought it was underrated for a movie with great actors. reminded me of the movie the core except without the burned guy at the end who was not! a Zombie. recommended for anyone to see.

  • Worst fucking movie ever, it was soooo freaking boring. I'd much rather watch Independance Day.

Oh and don't get me started with that gay ending with the zombie dude lmfao!

  • @themenaceanish Here's some advice. If you think you're a fan of science fiction but would rather watch Independence Day to Sunshine, then please ONLY go see big budget Hollywood movies. Look for HUGE stars like Will Smith and Bruce Willis. Because fans of REAL science fiction prefer a plot with more depth. Fans of Indpendence Day are only looking for eye candy explosions and cheesy one-liners. I'm sure you also didn't or won't enjoy MOON or ANOTHER EARTH either. They have a script.

  • @VoyceOfReason Independance Day made far more money than the movies you mentioned put together plus sunshine ROFL!

    USA FTW!

  • @themenaceanish Making lots of money doesn't make it a "Good" movie. It just makes it a popular. Don't get me wrong. I liked Independence Day for what it was; poorly written sci-fi-action with lots of eye candy ... much like Armaggeddon. But the scripting, the background research and believability were all non-existent in those movies. I guess my point is this. You either like sci-fi for the explosions or you like it for the story. That's where we differ. No disrespect intended.

  • What is that Song called? I knew him before, but i don't Know its Name
