  • Fucking auto correct, I meant itunes

  • @bobthebadash lmfao urines

  • Why isn't this on urines?

  • Love it, always have! Thanks for putting it up.

  • Mr. Charlie Daniels for President!!

  • Interesting. I have watched 2 hour movies that have left me less emotionally invested in the fate of the characters than this 3:39 song over Big Bad John.

  • Not Bad , But I have to put in my 2 cents for Jimmy Dean ( =

  • Big John..Know lip...You Been warned.. :)

  • ..Very nice.... Thumbd up :)

  • No, this version is just, bad...

  • Daaaaaaa la voz del tipo. :S

  • Best version ever, charlie has the voice for it

  • i dont like this verison of it i like the origal one

  • Big Bad john can break 4 folks neck with 1 hand!!!

  • dad: where you goin?

me: of to kill 4 ppl

    dad: what? why?

Me: they disliked a charlie daniel song

Dad: o hell no go get my shot gun ill meet u in the car

  • I love Charlie Daniels, but this is Dean's turf.

  • The original was absolutely amaing, but this is perfect.

  • The original is the best but this was ok

  • @tomeaker shit ur gay

  • The Oak Ridge Boys are the back up singers on this one.

  • this is by and far the best version I've heard of this song in years.

  • Toby Keith or Tim Mcgraw should sing this

  • @DJCummings1985 no toby keith lost his touch im a big fan of toby but hes lost his touch but yeah mcgraw should

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh awsomeeee fuck neggers

  • I love this song... its fucking awesome.

  • jimmy dean for sure, but this version not bad

  • Where in the hell do i find this song on itunes?? which album is this from?

  • @Gomeze186 This cut is from an album Charlie did in 1988 called Homesick Heroes. Unfortunatley the album is no longer in print. I'm blessed enough to have a copy of it though

  • This version makes him sound even more of a bad ass

  • i love cdb but there's only one version, and that's the one done by mr. pork sausage

  • In all of Charlie Daniels songs, he puts that kinda.. low dark tone to it and makes it send a chill down your spine, and able to actually see everything in your mind... Charlie Daniels, beats all of these new country wanna be's in my opinion.

  • @foxboy63 The song called 'Legend of Wooley Swamp' really sent a chill down my spine; never heard one like that that sounded THAT spooky.

  • josh tuner wouldn't stand a chance against Charlie Daniels much less Jimmy Dean

  • josh turner or justin moore

  • and a crashing blow from a huge right hand sent a Louisiana feller to the promised land. . . . . chilling

  • this is a pretty good version, not sure which is better, i do love some cdb though.

  • haha this would make a sweet music video xD

  • You know, if you listen to a cover of an original, regardless of who does it, it is NOT going to be like the original, and if you can't listen to it and judge it on its' own merit, perhaps you shouldn't listen to a cover.

  • Ok, What movie is this from?????

  • @Sundancetr4 the movie is called big bad john surprisingly. came out in the early 90s i think

  • what movie????

  • don't know what your hearing this cranks over jimmy dean.

  • This is the version from the movie. Jimmy Dean actually chose Charlie Daniels and the Oak Ridge Boys to sing this for the movie. Just in case people were wondering where this version came from.

  • jimmy dean first performed the beauty, and Charlie Daniels perfected it.

  • If you ever watch the movie Charlie Daniels is who sings this song NOT Jimmie Dean.

  • this sux, and I love Charlie

  • @combivent323212 this is great....jimmy dean is the one I know and love, but I got to check this out because it cross referenced and I really think this one is great too...

  • AWESOME and a haunting version of this classic.

  • Well, even though they had their own music, the Jordanaires backed up Elvis a lot.Why not have the Oaks back up CDB on it.And that IS Joe Bonsall and Richard Sturbin in the background.

  • BIG BAD JOHN nuff said

  • REST IN PEACE JIMMY DEAN

  • great song...no matter whos singing.

  • @dreamwarrior22 so even i could sing it

  • Props to Jimmy Dean, Charlie did justice to this song

  • @misterbelfridge344 Sure sounds like the Oak Ridge boys singing back up to me.

  • its a good song i mean its also interesting how it shows that people may seem bad but are willing to give there lives for others.

  • i LOVE THAT SONG!!!

  • The original is best of course, but I love the way Charlie puts his spin on it..sounds so haunting I am reminded of The Legend of Wooley Swamp.

  • jimmy dean's is better

  • I like Jimmy Deans version much better.

  • bad ass...

  • My Grandaddy was a coal miner and his nickname was BIG JOHN!

  • @stonedpimpdaddy

Your family went from a coal miner named Big John to a grandson named "stonedpimpdaddy"?

  • @20oakridge Makes perfect sense son! Only I ride Harley's and not '49 Fords full of 'shine, like my 'Ol Coalminer, Grandaddy, Reverend Big John D. Oliver from Hazard, Perry County Kentucky!! Tell me what you know about that 20OAKRIDGE?

  • This is my kind of style

  • Best remake of that classic ever. *****

  • he and Jimmy Deans are both good

  • Great Song Thanks

  • yeah i think charlie daniels \version is ok but nothing compares to jimmy dont get me rong charlie d's is good

  • I think he done a Pretty good job on this!

  • overproduced

  • what?

  • Overproduced....like, overproduced.

Ya know, like 90% of his stuff.

  • ace

  • WOW!

  • This is my favorite version of Big Bad John.

  • @adrienj67 agreed...this is the best version i have heard

  • Hallejujah to that sentiment, phoenixtimes2. ;-)

  • Charlie is the man

  • Charlie Daniels is a ledgend!!!

  • @phoenixtimes2

I dont know i think its pretty good.....

  • Richard Sterban is the best bass singer I ever heard!

  • The Oaks are credited on the album, just for the record

  • someone knows where i can learn the intro lick? it's awesome!!!!

  • Don't worry , Big John is still alive. I think the song is Cajun Queen , by Jimmy Dean, it tells the second half of the story.

  • yep then thers a third itty bitty big john or however u spell it

  • i really love this song

  • This is my favorite country song. But the video could be better. Shiznip!

  • Everytime I hear this I shed a tear at the end...

  • i love all the versions of this song but i think jimmy deans is the best, it would be an awsome song for josh turner to sing though

  • jimmy dean was poppy. This has more of a somber feeling to it.

anyways who doesn't love a good story? And I can't think of anyone who can tell a better story than charlie.

  • sorry i cant stand the one by jimmy dean. he did allot of this wrong with it.

  • I love charlie daniels band. thank you

  • @ltdan676 no jimmy dean did better

  • @rockstar1064069 --CDB has always been my fav C and W group but u r right---this doesnt compare (not even close) with original version

  • @loyaldude10 it's better

  • @SumsMundy idisagree i think its awsome

  • @partsman7828 then do not watch it and my dads name is jon and he died 3 days after my bday

  • while i do agree this is a great version better than all the covers of it. i still think jimmy deans origional is the best.

  • Normally I'd agree if someone said the original is the best, but this song NEEDS to be in d minor, not G Major. If Jimmy Dean had done it minor (as a song about a good man being buried alive should be), it would definitely have been one of the most difficult to cover, simply because the original would have been so awesome.

  • Laser-that's a horseshit answer. Jimmy Dean's version is a classic and has stood the test of time for 40 years. Where is your hit?

  • hey just because a song is a classic it does not mean it was perfect.

  • @ltdan676 your both right

  • I certainly meant no disrespect to Mr. Dean. The original is, without qualification, a great song, I simply find the Charlie Daniels version (I believe they had the Oak Ridge Boys in on that as well, but I could be mistaken) to be more aesthetically pleasing and musically logical.

  • yah that's the oak ridge boys in the back round

  • This is from one of my favorite CDB Albums. Homesick Heroes. The album is out of print and I was luck a few years ago to find a copy of it in a music store and I've not seen a single one since.

  • yeah, I have it, but I have never seen another copy either

  • best version of this song

  • i think this is the best version out of everybody thats sang this is the best

  • Is that the Oak Ridge Boys singing back up?

  • have no idea

  • @ltdan676 i think but i cant pin pont it

  • Yes it is

  • That IS the Oak Ridge Boys singing back up!

  • @misterbelfridge344 Yep, that's the Oaks singing backup.

  • @misterbelfridge344 Sure sounds like them...

  • @misterbelfridge344 i think so actually. of course i cant prove it but it sounds like them

  • @misterbelfridge344 nope sure isnt thats the band

  • @misterbelfridge344 yea thats the oaks

  • @misterbelfridge344 ...a little late to answer....but yes, that was the Oak Ridge Boys backing up the CDB in this song.

  • @misterbelfridge344

    yes it is

  • hell yea thanks for addin this song

  • thanks for the nice comment. glad you like it
