PC= If certain conditions are given theres a possibility of having a bit more applications that may or may not work and is not responsibility of anyone if they doesn't and if they do work theres always a 50% possibility that they crash and get the entire system to be useless,

so there's a 25% possibility for a PC to get running nice and smoothly for a short time.

Very much like those ads, especially the PC guy).. I think PC can be just as stable and twice more powerful than Mac for the same money, though.. In terms of comfort and security - Mac is good from the box, in case of PC it is a solvable problem..

And the main thing for PC is a variety in software and hardware...

I prefer Macs, mainly because my computer which runs Windows (and bearing in mind it's less than 5 months old) often crashes. I do not know whether it's a hardware or software issue, but I've never had a Mac crash on me (I use them at school, not just at the Apple Store by the way). Given a better computer, I would like both equally.

Even cheaper (and better) than a PC is Linux. There are lots of different Distrobutions or "Distros", and nearly every aspect of computing has its specialised Distro. For instance, Audio/Video editing has 64 Studio, Gaming (admittedly slightly undeveloped) has LinuXGamers, and newbies have Ubuntu, which is easy to use, but in no means limited.

Windows Me is based off the MS-DOS 8.0 Kernel

Windows 2000 is based off the NT 5.0 Kernel

They were released around the same time, but they had completely different kernels and they were specifically tailored with completely different target markets.

This is because I was a PC user who used to hate Macs. Then I started to objectively try to understand Mac and realized it wasn't that bad. Then I got my first Mac when Apple switched to Intel processors so that I can just install Windows on it (but still have the option to use the OSX side if I wanted too).

Additionally, I am a family and friends tech support guy and I still have to fix their mostly Windows-based computers. :-)

The thing is, is that PC is being called the most impractical computer to date, even though they've had only one mistake with an OS, and that was Vista. XP and Win2000 never had any problems near the kind of problems Vista had. In fact, when I ran XP and Win2000 they never had any problems. So everyone thinks that just because they had one mistake, every OS was a big mistake, when the truth is that Windows 7 is the most practical OS out there. I've never had any problem with it when using it.

Mac's OS has not even been tested. What viruses are developed for the Mac OS? Do they number the viruses developed to hack into Windows security?

When Apple's OS becomes widely used then we will see just how well its security really is. Until then, it isn't even worth hacking because of where it is in the business world.

@thundrwagn The shocking thing a lot of people don't understand is that Microsoft sells more because of lucrative contracts to major PC developers, also enormous pressure on public services and other buyers. Like the NHS in England. They we're going to move to OpenOffice and RedHat until Microsoft jumped in at the last second and dropped their prices. Long term it has and it WILL cost them dearly.
