  • cool vid

  • They aren't necessarily stingless. There stingers are just to weak to puncture the skin. Except you might be able to feel a little sting on more sensitive areas of your body, such as the mouth or nose. But even so they arent really very toxic, atleast nothing that can really effect us.

  • can you really squeeze jelly out and eat it just like spongebob??

  • @idkyoo

Jellyfish don't have any jelly inside them but even if they did it would be really cruel to the jellyfish. I mean, how would you like to have your insides squeezed ou and spread inside a sandwich? No? Didn't think so.

  • Lovely video, by the way what's the name of the song?

  • Matt Harding was there :D

  • wow so a waterworld full of jellyfish and they are harmless ahh nature's angels of the sea

  • They're CUTE! =D

  • Located at Pacific island of Palau

  • were is lake palau

  • WOW!

*added to the list of places to go before I die*

I love jellyfish, they are so beautiful.

  • Somebody Knows who sing in this video and the name of song

  • There are no predators so they don't need stinging tentacles. I would love to go there someday.

  • are you sure their stingless? i would stil be afraid.... even though i would loveeeeeee to go to jellyfish lake

  • yes they are.. im from this island and ive been here alot of times.. its a experience of a lifetime..

  • They are poisonous, but too weak to affect human beings.

  • i got stung by one of those suckers. my leg

  • They're "stingless"

  • Brings back fond memories. Did 2week dive trip to Yap and Palau 2 yrs ago. Almost passed on Jellyfish Lake because it sounded so lame. This has to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen/experienced. I didn't want to leave.

  • ouch, i wouldnt like to swim there, its a wonder they didnt bite him

  • Their harmless ... No worries ...

  • beautiful

  • What wrong with you?!?!?!

  • The lake seems to be very eutrophic. Are these pelagas living from unicellular algae?

  • hey im frm palau,

ive been to this place.. its

    called the jellyfish lake..

    stingless cloud jellyfish.. its

    so good.. yall should go..

  • aren't they're poisonous?

  • lol ya iw as like wtf

  • that was beautiful.... *cries*

  • I wanna eat them!

  • THEY'RE SOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow that's so beautiful, if only i know how to scuba dive...

  • That is soo cute!! ^^

  • Poor jellyfish :( ze schudt hem alle kanten op!

  • i c,thats awsome! ^^ i wish i could swim in there XD

  • ok, for all you guys who DON'T GET WHY PALAU'S JELLYFISH ARE SPECIAL: they lost their stinging abilities because they don't have a need for them. They were isolated in a salt/fresh water lake hundreds of years ago and feed on plankton that photosynthesizes inside them.

  • i know! isn't that cool!

  • Hmm.. Surely mastigias and moon jellies dont have stings outside the lake either? the moon ones arrive in swarms on beaches here in england in summer, and people jus chuck them around - they're the sticky type, not the stinging type.

  • these jellyfish ARE mastigias, and though i've never heard of any outside of the lake, if it were the case they probably would have to still have stingers because of predators. the reason they lost their stinging cells is because the lake had no natural predators except sea anenome (which wasn't a huge threat) and the moon jellyfish does sting, but when they wash up on the beach their tentavles have likely been ripped off by waves and sand, also their stingers are really small.

  • No, what I was trying to say is that I'm sure they still do have stingers, they just aren't strong enough to penetrate anything. loosing stinging cells completely is a big step in evolutionary terms, and It's hard to comprehend that these Jelly fish could have just "given up" stinging over a couple of hundred years. Please though, correct me if I'm wrong - I have no wish to be bigoted :)

  • well, you're right. the point is their stinging cells have become so minute that they're pretty much dismissable and can't really be used for anything any more.

  • do they sting at all? plus where is that place?

  • HOLY SHIT! thats got death writen all over that! O.O

  • actually, they don't sting ^.^ see my comment above to know why

  • i wonder how they came stingerless

  • there not bad the only annoying part is when it hurts though my brother got on stuck on his leg he had a big one!!but there still cool when i see one i just get a stick and move them a little farther away

  • same there minging lol i've been stung by one not nice!

  • jellyfish creep me out lol

  • They look like KFC I wana Eat them :p

  • i hate jelly fish

  • that crazy

  • It scared the crap out of me when I saw the first video (panning down from a normal lake, then...100,000 jellyfish!) But knowing the story about how they became landlocked and got rid of their 'stingers,' that is just damn cool. I'd swim with them any time (my luck, they get really annoyed and re-evolve them stingers!)

  • kill them all and add something better to the lake

  • Yeah, like Nuclear Waste!

  • I went there before i touched 1 and it felt squishy LOL

  • Didnt they sting you? =O

  • Theve lost their stingers over time

  • beautiful!

  • Nice movie but skranke fall is better, WATCH IT!♥♥

  • Stingerless, thats waesome!

  • all those jelly fish are stingless which is great so you can swim and admire them at the sametime

  • Beautiful! I wish I could go there sometime. Jellyfish are so beautiful and graceful! I wouldn't normally go that close to them though because of the stingers, but they're still amazing to watch!

  • I would so try and hug one!!

  • You are so slow! I was snorkeling, not on a boat.

  • where is this like wat state/country?

  • they dont sting??Where are there eyes, mouth and, nose at? those things are wierd, but awesome at the same time

  • lol jelly fish dont have eyes nose and all that, they dont have stingers because the lake was connected to the oceana nd it got blocked off so there was no threat for the jelly fish and all that kind of stuff so..they dont have stingers (no threat)BAM! lol me smurt

  • Well actually they do have stingers - just too small to hurt you and me :)

  • shhh im trying to be smart!

  • i bet they were pissed when they found out the tunnel closed

  • Someone call Spongebob QUICK!

  • yikes!

  • Ask the Mountains by Vangelis would have been a much better song for this. I actually muted the video and played it along with it instead. Very relaxing.

  • thats amazing, i wanna go there.

  • woahh.. datz A LOT!!!

  • they're so beautiful! thank you! i'd still be too scared to go in there though lol. doesn't matter if they're stingerless or not haha.

  • Cool video, but, thank god for mute buttons!

  • actually, they do have stingers AND they used to be connected to the ocean, but while they were in the lake the path to the ocean broke off and they've been breeding there ever since. Music was horrible and got on my nerbes though, even though it probably suited the video.

  • oooh, eggplant jellyfish! i love those :D they are perfectly harmless.

  • THIS IS COOL

  • Pettable squishies! What a lazy life, swimming around and growing in the sun~.

@trakkaton: They seriously are, man. :O

  • a thing of evolution? :)

  • it says Trip to visit a million stingerless Jelly fish at Jelly fish Lake Palau!

  • what you do not know:

they're all discussing theoretical physics with each other.

  • is this the same lake that was on survivor a year or two ago??? I cant remember if there was a SURVIVOR: Palau

  • same lake.

  • omg ur mad i'd never swim with all those jellyfish!!

  • Those jellyfish don't sting...

You can bump into them as much as you want.

They don't have any predators so they never developed a sting.

  • ha you crashed into them!

  • are they edible?

  • i ate jellyfish once in Japan...i tried it anyway...yik

  • w w w . lost . eu / 4b465
