I have a theory about the traffic in Bogota, I've filmed there too, for several hours of driving actually. My theory is that everybody is expecting the other driver to do something crazy and to cut you off. There are so few accidents because everybody is used to nobody following any rules or common courtesy. Very interesting.
@Delticola It makes sense. In fact, my dad used to say that when driving we must be watching the stupid moves the others are doing so we can prevent the accident. That´s how I drive.
Bogota is dirty, dangerous and the people are not friendly of helpful. My girlfriend and I arrived December 25, staying at the Hotel Sabana in the centro. Less than a kilometer from the hotel we we robbed my four men with knives attacked and robbed us on a crowded street 40 feet from four policemen. I called for help as they stood there watched. Afterward they refused to take our names or make a report. I'm a seasoned traveler, but Colombia is dangerous and the police are not on your side.
I have been in Bogota in August and they drive crazy. I'm pretty sure if you can drive a car in Bogota you can drive everywhere (even in New York and I used to live in New York!!).
haha!! thanks for your comment. In fact, a friend of mine, he´s american, once said that is not hard to drive in Bogotá.... it´s the hardest place to drive in!!! haha!!!

Try Tbilisi, Georgia. It's like the Indy 500...and with no seat belts.
I think if you drive anywhere outside the US and Europe you will never complain about American drivers again!

Gracias, primero vamos por la avenida Rojas hasta la avenida calle 68, luego cruzamos sobre el puente de la avenida Boyaca.
