Chuck Yeager shot down two me-262 flying a p-51 mustang during the war. You can have a superior plane like the ME-262 but if you don't have a superior pilot flying them they are useless.

It was the materials not the design that is why we use the German designs in all military aircraft to day, Germans also used the low powered Centrifugal design also, but they knew that it would not be good for the military, just good for civilian or transport.

@pramboy09 The reason that made German jet engines unreliable was the fact that they were made of steel and not of cobalt as they were supposed to, so they had to replace each engine after 8 hours of work. At the time the production of the Me 262 started, Germany was cut off from Turkey where it was supplied with cobalt from so they had to use steel instead.
@mpgingdl many German fighter pilots say that attacking a formation of 4-mots was terrifying too. I suppose putting yourself in a position where you might die is worth avoiding, wherever possible.
1:51 is certainly a Me262 attacking. It's evident by the stream of tracers not possible by anything but the 4 x Mk108 30 mm cannons. The volume of fire put out by those four cannons was enormous and completely devastating to anything it hit.
I think those are F-190 attacks it was armed with the same cannons and the schwalb would have closed much faster on the bomber. I saw one real footage and the ME went past the bombers so fucking fast it had to turn around and come back just to fight.
1:51-1:53 supposeldy Me 262 attacks a B17 from 2 o clock low, and scores critical hits on the left wing behind engine no 2 as well as fuselage. Massive fuel tank hit, fuel spills and explodes, this B17 can most likely be considered shot down.
the footage of 109s (and one that could be FW 190) that are being shot at from behind, and the total views of the bomber swarm are possibly taken from US escort fighters not visible in video, some video feed is from B17 gunner positions. You can see several 109s being shot down, as well as at least 2 B17.
0:28-1:36 wave of at least 3 swarms with 9 B17 each is being attacked from above by Me 109s (and possibly FW 190), while being painted by 88mm Flak (AAA)
Iam a participant in a ring of 85 B-17 air crew members. As we watch this video we know that those are FW 190s and ME 109s that are flying though the B-17 formations but the film maker tried to make it look like ME 262's are fighting the B-17's. But it's interesting camera shots put together with music. Since we didn't have cameras on our guns, all or most of the gun camera shots were taken from fighters. Frankly, it's too realistic.

Chuck Yeager shot down two me-262 flying a p-51 mustang during the war. You can have a superior plane like the ME-262 but if you don't have a superior pilot flying them they are useless.

nice video, but audio sounds constructed, so its hard to say wether those B17 attacks had been flown by a Me262 or something else.
