The name Mormon is a nickname given to the church in after its formation in 1830 by its critics. It was nicknamed this because of the churches believe in the teachings of the Book of Mormon. So, LDS and Mormon are the same, but Mormon is not its true name.

Well, I only recently focused attention to the mormon because of the FLDS thing. I have studied it as a social system under luhmann ideal. I do also practice magic, and I know god to some extent (for real). Most stuff i just learn on my own.
