I've had the audio on my iTunes for quite a while even though he is a terrible reader! I love the poem's ethereal, yet happenstance description of love and how such a great love can go unnoticed by those hanging around quite close.
Teaching this poem is brilliant fun. Students go from "this is stupid" to "I get it!" and then become a part of the "we understand E.E. Cummings" club.
This is great. I didn't watch the video, just closed my eyes and listened. I feel so depressed now for some reason, and seemingly my feelings are as if Cummings himself. Thank you.
I had one of the most profound emotional reactions to this. I read this poem first when I was 16, and now I am almost 36. The music combined with this poem and the imagery; it was being on the verge of devastation, annihilation, disintegration, but profoundly good. Truth. Thank you. There are no words for what this means to me, ultimately. None.
i love explosions....and the combination of the two is pretty cool.

this is wonderful, I was hoping to do a lyrical dance to this poem, may i ask where you found the recording of ee cummings?

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.
The recording is from a collection of poets reading their own material -- it's called "Poetry Speaks" (search for it on Amazon).

I was wondering where you found the original recording of e.e.cummings. I would love to share it with my class; we are studying his poetry next week.

You should make e.e. cummings voice louder in the mix. Then this would be awesome.
