"Where all the bodies hang on the air. And if she remembers me she hides it whenver we meet. Either way now I don't really care 'cause I am long, long gone from there."
Does anyone else remember listening to August and Everything After over and over around '93'-94 while you were younger and having the best time of your life?
@NowLifeStarts Freshman year of college this album played in every dorm, every minute of the day, never a big fan then but now it has a special place in my heart because it evokes so many great memories. And today I move to the very Sullivan St. he's singing about. Never saw that coming. Thanks for sharing.
the recorded version is sooooo good.......methinks there is one too many guitarists in counting crows at the mo......... great song though, thanks for posting
Great work Skunkeye - am I still picking you up at 6:30? Go the crows - Melbourne is the Crows capital in OZ - hence the only stand alone show this tour!
so i have been sitting here for like the past six hours doing hw and listening to the counting crows on repeat. very few bands still sound good after six hours.
losing myself in the crows never itself loses its distinct and melancholic yet reassuring quality. I can't imagine not having the crows and though i have lost a few peeps and loves along the way i am glad noone can take the crows
Counting Crows is awesome...an who is this "kid and play" LMAO.. CC is timeless very well written music. Kid and play is a joke stop judging on a haircut...i bet you dont even have hair.
greetings from the philippines...salamat sa video (thx for the video) im a fan of the counting crows and listening to them gives me a real great feeling..thx for the video
"My closest friend in there was a lovely but temprimental giant called RD who introduced me to the Crows. He would lent me the August albulm which I really enjoyed."
good decision on RD's part, that's one of the best albums in the history of pop/rock music. i dig the crows.
My closest friend in there was a lovely but temprimental giant called RD who introduced me to the Crows. He would lent me the August albulm which I really enjoyed. you find in those enviroments you kinda feel cheered by learning that Anna's life seems more screwed than yours etc... Don't know what it is really, Tracey Chapman is popular in those places which will come as no suprise.
I made a few friends there, RD, GH, GW, BM, MB, PC to name a few. In particular though was a guy I shall refer to as BC. BC was a life sentence prisoner who had served 10 years for stabbing his landlady in a drunken rage one night. The fact that he had used violence against a woman seemed to really be a problem for him and we spent many occasions discussing the shame and guilt and total remorse he felt for what he had resorted too that night.
Undrstandable because you harden your emotions within that enviroment so as to not feel the pain we bury. My last 2 years (taking my incarceration to 6) was spent in a unique establishment which was made up of these tight knit theraputic communities which made everyone accountable to everyone, staff and inmates alike. Believe me having been a guy with a major chip on his shoulder, who fought the system all the way, and acted like an 'A' hole, even my barriers came down eventually.
some time ago I was a bit naughty and found myself being held in captivity by the British penal system. I spent 4 years rough housing it around all the nicest establishments and learnt that there is no compassion what-so-ever between inmates. I witnessed many conversations which would take place in the breakfast queue, "Smiffy topped himself last night, they took his body away about 4am" to which the stock reply would normally be "F*$K who got his radio".
Go listen to Britney Spears...she plays the song the same way everytime :) Some people like artists such as Bob Dylan, and The Counting Crows who keep their music fresh, and make each live performance an experience.
