Remember the typical Konami-Cheat-Mode: Press the *pause* button on the key pad, then: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, and your ship was fully equipped with all weapons
@shouhuoyuan It's NOT a cheat code. It's a NORMAL code. CHEAT codes give INFINITE energy, lives, continues, etc. Like the Game Genie. I ONLY beat 3 games w/ that thing... Cobra Triangle (TOUGH AS F*** w/o cheats), Smash T.V. (SNES Edition) and TMNTIV:TiT (Turtles in Time, SNES Edition). Other than THOSE, I BEAT EVERY OTHER w/o GG's help!!
lol, these videos are so well done. You remember the games, but not necessarily the music until you hear it, so they really build up the suspense in the first few seconds, and then, bam, the tune hits you.. "OHH YEAH I REMEMBER THAT!!" xD
Haha thank you for posting them Grudoh! As for this specific music, I must shamefully admit the first thing that comes to mind is entering the Gradius cheat code at the beginning.. up down left right B A start or something like that hahah.. still fond memories :>
They were right about stage three, the music isn't as good. But the rest of it is fab. I remember dying a lot but managing to finish it once (I must have been in the zone), and I felt drained aftwards.
I love this! someday I will remix the whole gradius soundtrack. Ah please, make the video for the PCengine version of gradius, it sounds very very good without sacrifying the charm. Keep up the good work
Yes it was so damn hard that game. One could really feel proud when beating games back then. I think i only managed to get to level 4 or 5 or something. Anyway a milestone in shoot-em-up.
Why didn't he back up into the rock in the middle?

It's worth noting that this game's soundtrack was composed by Miki Higashino when she was only 16-17 years old.
Also, the original arcade version of this game was released a year before in 1985.

One of my favorite games of all time right here! Another game that was incredibly challenging.
Music kicks ass, game kicks ass! Reminds me of the summer of 1987. Used to go swimming all day, and play this all night lol!

The music definitely added to the intensity of the game itself.

Gradius is the best and the greatest game Konami ever made.

@truthquest No... MLB Power Pros IS!!! But, if you mean OLD SKOOL NINTENDO, then, yeah. And SNES would be BMFM (Biker Mice from Mars).

Wonder what would have happened if Sunsoft had to do the music instead? Anyway, why is everyone so ashamed about the level 3 music in this game?
