  • Thanks Chris, I value your opinion on your reviews,

  • @SparkieWaller2009 your welcome.

  • Chris, What are you recommending now. My Kodak Play Touch has got some issues recently and I need to get something else. Let me know what you think. I was looking at the Samsung W200 but I just want to know what you think. I carry my camera around in my pocket and that is why the Kodak is having its problems. The Shock Proof and Water Proof features appeal to me because I do handle my cameras a little rough.

    All The Best,

    Sparkie

    Quinton Alabama

  • @SparkieWaller2009 the w200 is a good choice. if you do get it dont do the firmware update. it kills the battery. another one to think of is the kodak zx5.

  • seems a little harsh chris !.............where did the festive spirit go to ?

  • @ORGANISER61 sorry about that. i didnt know whether the red was good or bad.

  • my computer is turning everything red !!

  • @ORGANISER61 bummer.

  • Samsung can be a bit hit and miss in my experience. Pretty good for laptops camera wise not so good.

I think the video was pretty good from it but it looked a bit choppy. If you get a chance I'd start to look around at other makers I know JVC are doing some newer models and they look pretty good to my eyes.

  • @barryfitzgerald29 thanks. i think i will wait until after the CES show. see what comes out of that.

  • Sorry to hear this happened to your Chris! Especially after we were just discussing the W200 and I was learning towards getting it originally! I did end up getting the Samsung Q10 and so far it's great! I'm sure you'll be fine if you get another W200 and I know the picture quality is great (except it's 30fps) but since you already have a ZX5 for your underwater needs you should get the Samsung Q10!

  • @DamienColletti i have been tempted to get the samsung q10. maybe in the christmas sales. i am glad you like your new camcorder.

  • @chrisc74 Cool you have been and hope you get it Chris! It's on sale at Best Buy now for $180! That's where I got it! Thanks I am! Lol.

  • @DamienColletti thanks for the info

  • The same problems here...

It started after applying the firmware upgrade I got from the Samsung site.

I'm certain it was charged when I started the upgrade. Upgrading took two minutes and after rebooting the battery indicator was empty!

Haven't been able to fully recharge it since. Won't go over 50%. No matter how long it charges. Max recording time is about 30min. now.

Too bad. I loved the sharp images of the W200, despite the too obvious jello effect in 1080p.

It's going back to the shop...

  • @edgarvi83 sorry to hear that. someone should say not to update the firmware.

  • That is get renching mate, sorry to hear that, maybe you may fancy another camera now? New Year sales coming up! :-)

  • @007vauxhall i heard yah. LOL. i dont think there are any out there i like at the mo.

  • I believe you're better off getting your money back because the W200 isn't performing as well as the other cams you tried already, video quality-wise(in low light or day time conditions equally). The market is getting more cameras based on the KODAK form factor camcorders, regarding the ZX5 and PlayTouch physical appearance. Samsung makes quality product, but samsung' low-cost products aren't as remarkable(long lasting with quality) as those high-end items they make but run a little pricier.

  • @voteboo thanks. i think i am going to wait and see what comes out next year.

  • @chrisc74 Wise choice.

  • sry to hear this chris , the good news is that u get your money back

  • @gavrilaeugen thanks. it is good

  • Why does this have to happen to you? Why doesn't it happen to some idiot who hates your videos?

  • @TheDaniel500 amen. i have never understood that.

  • Sorry to hear about your problem :/ Hey at least you still got all your other great camcorders. :)

  • @ScorpionsInstinct thanks. that is true

  • What do you think about the new Sony Bloggie Touch 8gig built in cannot be expanded vs the even a bit smaller Kodak which claims to do 1080p but apparently not true 1080p whereas the Bloggie has true 1080p.

  • @TruthInjector the sony bloggies have a focusing problem which hasnt been sorted out yet. also i have noticed on some of the videos it records with huge black lines on the sides. the smaller kodak is only 720p hd. i havent heard that its meant to do 1080p. the ze2 doesnt. the zx5, zx3, zi10 and zi8 do.

  • @chrisc74 Kodaks are 1080p. Kodak Playful 1080p does do 1080p as we tried it at a shop-- didn't test it thoroughly. Got some of the Bloggie Touches/8gb (also comes in 4gb) and it seems to do well. Will focus on the focus issue today to see if there is a problem. It does do well in low light and seems to focus with good detail even at close range. The Kodak Playful says 1080p and has a 1080p 30 mode setting which works- but the store clerk said it's not true 1080p- like Sony Bloggie.

  • sorry to hear about that mate hope you get it sorted, I love my Panasonic TA1 thanks

  • @1234mattyman thanks. i am glad you like your camera
