@woodscritter Husqvarna own McCulloch, Poulan, RedMax and Jonsered, not to mention a ton of other brands. The chainsaws which are not Husqvarna's are usually of lower quality. In the case of McCulloch, they are made in China. Don't be fooled by it saying shit like "Made in USA from parts made in China" because it's the parts what matter.
@thealed29 ah but i think you will find most are made in china now but assemblked in other countries ,i know stihl are chinese for sure ,ive a mcculloch ,theyre ok really, when u manage to get to start them
@ZIONISTSRSHIT Stihl models HS 45, MS 170, FS 40 (I think just all thier entry level stuff) is chinese made, I know models like the MS 171, 181 and 211 are made in the US.
@thealed29 oh good ,hopefully the us made ones have less plastic on them ,my cousin has an old stihl ,its one hell of a machine ,but i think theyre trading on thier reputation ,hell of a price and all plastic
I've just restored a McCulloch but there's 2 things I'm not sure about, which I hope you can help me with:
1) Do I have to press the trigger whilst trying to start it? I hope not because my model doesn't have an extended handle to place your foot in for support.
2) When and how often do I need to press the manual oil pump?

Why are you holding the chain brake in while cutting?
DShinskey 1 year ago
@DShinskey The chain brake is principally operated by the top-hand guard being pushed forward to engage the brake, and pulled back to disengage
CarAudioGuy21 1 year ago
@CarAudioGuy21 Yes, but why are you holding it inwards while cutting, you can let go of it you know.
DShinskey 1 year ago
@DShinskey oh yup i get what you mean now reading up on the chain brake i now see what its function is for cheers for the heads up
CarAudioGuy21 1 year ago
@CarAudioGuy21 No problem. Will make for much more comfortable, easier cutting. Enjoy. Check out my videos of my new Husqrvana!

@DShinskey oo nice will do
CarAudioGuy21 1 year ago
@CarAudioGuy21 It will also be safer because if it kicks back you can stop the chain.

Looks very much like a re-branded Poulan. With a loose chain.
The stuff you're cutting here is much better suited to a (hand) bow-saw.
woodscritter 1 year ago
@woodscritter most things these days are re branded
lol a hand saw what a waste of time i dont have all day
