Wildfires can move at over 60 mph and suddenly change directions. Please remember this, everyone, and don't take chances if you ever are confronted with a wildfire. Situations as depicted in this video happen too frequently, even with people obeying evacuation orders. I am so glad this person was able to make it out and no one should criticize. This is a terrifying video.
Let's please keep in mind that this fire spread so fast there wasn't much warning. The wind gusts were 45mph that day so there was no controlling it and certainly no predicting where it would go and how long you had. Just glad this person was able to make it out. Thanks to the firemen & women who are out there risking their lives to save other...even when their own personal homes are burned to the ground. Just food for thought people...
Good thing you got out. Now that you have this uploaded this video the state is going to fine you for driving with one hand on the wheel because one is holding the camera.(kidding... hope they don't get the idea) be well
Its so dry here, Ive been so worried that even the smallest cig ash could just burst Dallas into flames the grass is just so unbelievably dry. Im glad this guy made it out alright.
I can only imagine what it would be like, with the whole world engulfed in flames like that, and no rescue crew, leading me to a place of safety. My faith would be tested.
did the fire rush up at you, suddenly? is that why you were still there at this time? did you wait until the fire was at your door? I can't understand why you'd have to be driving so close to the fire.
if you lived around the area you would know that there were 40 mile per hour winds that day and nobody knew there was a fire at all and there were so many houses to evacuate by the time they got there the fire had caught up
@farkasjulia Why don't you do a little research before you start pooping out of your mouth. This community is devastated. I have talked to countless people who didn't even get a warning. Also there are many sources from local fire departments, Park services, pilots, environmental agencies.. the list goes on that says this was one of the fastest moving fires ever. The fire went from zero to 17,000 acres in a matter of 3 hours or so. So get your shit straight.
@farkasjulia You are just an idiot. You weren't there and you obviously know nothing about the area and how fast one spark can spread through a drought-stricken area filled with pine trees. Correction...you are not an idiot...you are a brainless glob of flesh.
My crew was on the engine... We had to evacuate multiple people off that road...

This was taken on Kelley Rd close to 1441 and 21 intersection. The fire was extremely nearby by the time we knew to evacuate.

I watched this fire spread, it was the fastest moving fire Ive ever seen. I doubt he was ignoring the evac order. Fire just moved too fast.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
This is what happens when you don't evacuate in time and then you have to run for your life.
