@yannis "makeupartist" lol.....you sure complain a lot if you are a true artist you take in info that you need and discard the rest you dont critique and whine like a child.......mac should block you! Go back to make up forever!
I usually defend these quick tip videos...can be helpful for newbies which I believe they are tailored to, but....a lip tip demonstrated on a hand?? Really??? She had people/models around her...she couldn't just pick someone and showed us on a real live person?? Good color combo, though.
@feminista29 I definitely agree with everything you said! It would have been much more helpful and effective if she demonstrated that technique on an actual model instead of a hand - anyway can do that, right? You don't know exactly what something is going to look like unless it's shown on someone! It is a very nice color combination, though!
@feminista29 You have to remember this is backstage. You can't just pull a model that was hired by someone else to demo this trick. Plus I know where my lips are. I think people are getting to spoiled on the step by step of tutorials on youtube.
@MsKittenVixen that's true...they have to pay models for their time. but what about the demonstrator herself? why did she choose to use her hand rather than her own lips? i would find it more beneficial to actually see it on the body part it's intended for...lol. i wouldn't find an eye look easy to replicate if she drew it on her knee! i just found it rather silly. i don't think its too much to ask to demonstrate a lip look on actual lips. i don't think i'm spoiled, either. just my two cents. :)
@YiannisMakeUpArtist I'm not going to say all of them are not sales people but some of them do love the art and are blessed to get paid for what they love to do. MAC Cosmetics does train on product knowledge because you have to know what you are using. They train a lot more on the application and trends from backstage. The MAC that I go to all of them are certified and a Retail manager that has worked on celebrities like Janet Jackson and Niki Hilton with the company.
Adoro questo tipo di "tutorial". Proverò sicuramente questa tecnica dal momento che avendo le labbra sottili è l'unico modo per farle sembrare più piene :-)
Guys, OK< agree with you some of the tricks and tips are nothing new but not all these vids are addressed to professional make up artists or experienced beauty enthusiasts. The average person who doesn't have much time experimenting and watching vids might actually find these useful. If you already know something doesn't mean everyone else does.
@lauram1091 Because these artists are really backstage at a show and in order for the model to be shown they would have to have compensation/sign a release for MAC ect... Those models are hired by companies and designers. In this case as an artist myself I am greatful to see these quick tip trends. I don't need a 5 min. tutorial on this. You can always visit your local MAC Counter/store for a 1 on 1 demo. That is better then YouTube anyway.

Why is she showing the trick on her hand, instead of demonstrating it on a model?
lauram1091 1 month ago 231
@lauram1091 She did show how the result looked on the lips, she was probably demonstrating it on her hand because it's faster and easier
