Those statistics got me thinking... by my calculations they claim there were 35% more working in a year and if there were roughly 75 000 phone boxes (news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/­1658018.stm) they would have had to repair 26 250 boxes in a year. That's around 72 a day, nearly 3 an hour! I'm not sure we even have that many left!

I just noticed Adverts back then used lame-ass music which basically no-one had heard of and Now we still have those random artists on adverts.

9 out of 10 pay phones dont work is more like it. The other 1 is next in line to stop working! I reported a faulty payphone well over a year ago, and it still doesnt work! Probably will be ripped out soon, as BT decide it isnt used anymore. What do BT expect when it doesnt work! The people that did use it have now had a phone installed at home as they cannot rely on the phone box anymore.

9 out of 10 payphones that are still used work, pity we can't say the same about cellphone coverage.

Now 40p to call landline (20p to connect,20p for 20 minutes), it is worst if to mobile 28p a minute plus 20p to connect. :-(

Actually it's 61p/min to mobiles, plus 20p to connect. So your 40p will last 20 seconds. In Ireland it's worse, there the minimum is 1 Euro for 4 minutes to a landline. So we should be a little thankful.
