The subtle delivery, never "too much", and never not enough--just right, you can tell she believes the words, and then delivers them. Another singer you might like is Tina Arena, you can find her singing "Don't Cry for me Argentina" and although she might not be quite as good, she too comes across as so genuine, and her facial expressions, the authenticity she offers is better than any other I've seen

This is beautiful but the definitive version has to be the one by Jeff Buckley. When Rufus Wainwright recorded this for the Shrek sundtrack, it ws clear that he hadlistened closely to Buckley's version. You could tell how moved Cohen was by her version of his song. He and his partner Anjani Thomas later referred to this version as Hallelujah's "ultimate blissful state of perfection." I really love Cale and Buckley's version of this song as well. The fact there have been so many wonderful covers shows what a great song it is.
