@BBSorensen Cliff Burton was an amazing bassist, but he had nothing on Flea. Flea is probably the best bassist in the world, and even if Cliff Burton was still alive that would be exactly the same.

@BBSorensen He was damn good. Too many people do too little research before saying Flea is the best bassist in the world. Flea=slap. That's it. He's one of the best fast slap bass players. But as far as sonically pleasing groovy bass. There's better. As far as overall creativity and groove creation, there's better.

Hm I don't even consider him one of the best slap bassists since his technique is quite single sided for he always uses relatively straight rhythms and doesn't use techniques like double thumping etc. He's good for rhcp but in terms of note choice and espacially slapping technique there are bassists who play much more pleasing and tasteful.

Still this is my opinion so please fanboys don't go totally nuts on it, no offense ;)
