I remember one time I went into a 35 mph curve on my 1980 CB 900 Custom about 55 mph. The back tire slid about 2 inches and "chirped". I bout shit my pants, but I didn't wreck. I've been a lot more careful ever since.

he was leaned over a lot, but it wasnt just the lean angle that got him. he got on the throttle too much for the amount of lean he had coming out of the apex.

Wow, that race track is so unusual. It actually had traffic traveling the other way. It couldn't have been a road. Even Valentino woudn't do that on a regular road. He's smart enough to keep it to the track. In fact, no one would be so stupid as to try that on a regular roadway with gravel and vehicles traveling in the other direction. Would they?

hell that was too damn low n 2 tight of the corner...he should back off the throtle instead of giving it more gas n the middle of the corner.....lesson learned

Wrongo,

backing off the throttle would decrease clearance and put more weight on the much narrower front tires.

Giving it gas increases clearance (It raises both the front and back suspensions) and puts more weight on the much larger back tire. Not huge amounts of throttle, just rolling it on gently.

It's @ Kesselberg @ the "Showcurve" and this rider just tried to show how "good" he could "hangoff" and get the knee down. He wasn't to fast, but i think the cars in the conor "shocked" him. I think i can see that he opened the lean a bit as he saw the oncoming car.

He was sloppy into the corner, the throttle goes on, off on, off and finally on..., should be constant. Smoothness = fast pace.

He was low but the bike could have handled it, more likely that he let off the throttle thus shifting the weight yet again and that's what caused the low side.
