McCain used this same "lipstick on a pig" phrase earlier this year, referring to Hillary Clinton's policies. I don't think McCain was calling Hillary a pig, and I'm an Obama supporter. Obama's been using this same phrase on the trail before Palin even entered the race (and he was specifically talking about John McCain and his policies in this video - no mention of Sarah Palin).
