Lightning at the outer banks

I was on a ferry on my way to Oak. and something like that happened. We thought it hit us. I almost pooped a little. It was so close that the light was way more intense then the sound. Like the sound just past us by. You could feel the hairs on your head, arms, and legs standing up as we were all putting out leaders. Scary shit. Thanks for the vid.

Smoke alarms. They were rechargeable types, all connected to the house wiring. The lightning strike caused them all to go off for about 30 seconds.

It was a large rented house; besides the alarms, the lightning fried 2 TVs and 3 cell phone chargers.

did you check for a fulgamite? when lightning hits sand, it makes glass tubes that follow the path of the lightning.

On 7/21/05 this fella named Chris Waters audiotaped for me a huge 430am Tstorm in Buxton NC and when I got the audiotape from him here in RI..I loved what he taped...maybe there was some videotaping of IT too... he has audiotaped me many others from Buxton! Nice video here!

i was fishing on the frisco pier one year and were fishing as a heavy t-storm rolled in and orange lightning hit in hatteras, turns out it was orange beacuse it hit the beach house at the end of our street (Charma's landmark) on sutton place, it was really cool, blew a hole in the roof!

Very cool. We sat on the deck one night on the Outer Banks and watched cloud-to-cloud lightning go over our house and way out over the ocean. Nature puts on quite a show at the Outer Banks!

That happened to me as well except it wasn't raining and I was eating when a single bolt hit an electric pole one block away from were I was sitting. That scared me and I screamed really loud ^^
