It's funny how people will walk on a sidewalk trusting that the drivers passing them won't veer their 4 ton 30mph or faster moving metal mass into them but the mere possession of a gun is a sign that you are untrustworthy. If you don't think your fellow citizens are out to kill you why would you care if they have a gun?

It's not just active military affected by the nonsensical ban on weapons on military bases/federal installations. I'm an Army vet and a current DoD contractor on an Air Force Base. I am prohibited from even coming through the gate and storing my weapon in my truck while at work. The military exists to kill people and break things, and I can't defend myself while conducting business on their grounds. Absurd!!

I've also read those statistics about the Wild West, and followed up on them a little bit. They're straight. If only people who disregard morality and the people who choose to act in an official capacity carry weapons, all you ever end up with is a cat and mouse game with everyone else caught in the middle - which is incidentally an accurate description of modern criminal justice and policing.
