His arm wasn't sucked into the demension, just torn off by it the shippuden actually shows his taking it back after tobi finds it. The other was crushed by Gaara's sand coffin which is how he defeated gaara in the first place using it to plant tiny explosives inside his sand sphere. during one of akatsuki's meetings its confirmed that kakuzu sewed them both back on.

Kakashi only ripped it of. He missed the torso of Deidara, and hit his arm at the joint. I am not sure if he canceled the jutsu, or if Deidara pulled away, resulting in it getting ripped of. But it did not disapear. Tobi found it later on in the woods.

And about the fight with Gaara. Yes, his arm was crushed. But if I remember right (I could be wrong) Sasori made him a new one.
