  • Meh well... Too bad for you i wasnt at home when i tried that :p

  • cool

  • People in Michigan now how to do it right

  • I would like to try this, but I would certainly fail... and possibly kill myself...

  • Lol thats awesome but a bad idea. Once my dad was riding with his friends and they hit water and his friend was behind him and the spray came up and hit his helmet. The water froze and he couldnt see anything and didnt know if he was on snow or water yet. Not a huge deal but they were riding the river so if you go through, you get swept under the ice.

  • That is not flood water

  • you know your cool when you run across flood water, THEIRS ICE UNDERNEATH THE FOUR INCHES OF WATER

  • What do you think about Yamaha RsViking Pro?? Will it swim? =)

  • Show me more water and a slower speed. ;) Girls xross great!

  • what a pain in the ass it would be to get the sled out of the water and restore it, but it seems like you know what youre doing ;)

  • i liek how the arctic cat burps at the end haha right on and nice sounding sleds

  • this is why search and rescue are going to start billing people.

  • unsanity

  • im from michigan im like 20 mins away from lake superior

  • gigity gigity gigity goo

  • quoted in video info. "Join the Fun". Is it really that fun to consider sinking your 10,000$+ machine. Like is it really worth it?

  • yes it is lol. whole reason y people do it for the risk. and no not 10k dollars quit unless u wanna watercross a 550lbs z1 turbo. but no buy a really nice sled for about $3000 and yeah u b ight. dont have to exactly do lakes but ponds and shit u can easily get ur sled running again to in bout a hour.

  • you must be one of the riders that stays on the trail the entire time eh? lol. jk man, but if you have and riding ability at all you will be fine, just make sure your motor has the power to spin the track, bigger paddle are better, i do it w/a 1.5 w/ease. and i always buy my sled a couple years old. let the "other guy" take the big hit. uk?

  • Um.. Correct me if I'm wrong.. But isn't the whole idea to give it just enough throttle so it stays afloat. Not too much because it will move the water out of the way and sink. Not to little or it will just stall.

  • @TheBlu3tube doesnt really matter, you can go wide open or just enough, you just better make sure you have some good paddles

  • I do it with a .91 lug, a paddle would be alot better though.

  • no wthat was fucking cute

  • could you do this on stock 1999 and 1997 models

  • check out my vids of my 97 ski-doo it loves the water

  • i like how their so close to the edge and their all beside each other lol

  • tell me i saw and apex in there

  • srry did not see one mostly cat's and ski doo's

  • cool video, nice shot

  • whered tge fith guy go lol

  • two years ago three guys hit open water at night.. one turned and made it, one sank immediately and the guy died. The third went two and a half miles over open water. Horse power and track design are everything. Look it up. Sebago lake Maine

  • wat kind of sleds do u guys have?

  • that was normal sleds

  • Sick :)

  • awsome

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • you kno what is kool.... you could drive from there on the shore and just haul ass across the entire lake and it would be like never ending

  • its actually challenging to go far becaus if you don't have enough momentum which you wouldn't you would sink, srry to burst your bubble

  • bs...

  • sorry to burst your bubble snowboarderdude but you are so wrong

  • just hit more throtte and it goes

  • uhh... ur retated. look at some more vids of waterskipping snowmachines. the snowmobile 'rides' on the water it doesnt just skip. the track propels it on the water and it stays on top. u can accelerate and slow down on water. u dont absolutely need momentum...

  • those sound bad ass

  • nice i love Superior

  • im definetly not gonna try that at home... bathtubs not big enough my lake would work better!

  • Wow! I wonder who was the first person to find out this was possible?

  • my friends home here do this all the time it isnt tricky or hard i see people drive at a bigger lake like this

  • sweet man

  • looks like the mouth of the tahquamenon...?

  • sick man!! and to backflip147 polaris is cheap but they are SHIT!

  • i wanna try it with an yamaha apex haha my 800 should be fine

  • I wouldnt wanna lose a sled that water must be pretty deep.

  • If that is Lake Surperior; were talking 1300 feet at it;s deepest

  • man i like the sound of the last sled crossing by

  • For performance on the trail you have to go with yamaha

  • thats a ney ney mountain yes, there phazer, is a wounder but on the trail its mxz

  • Haha awesome! :D thats really cool.

    5/5 stars!

  • the u.p. is a crazy ass time. just dont get caught in paradise. you michigan guys know what i mean!

  • whats the best sled for going fast hitting jumps and crossing long water?

  • There was a CAT in our group that was just at home on the water as it was on the trails. The new RevXP is a trail eating machine but it's still up in the air on the water crossings. The only sled I would not suggest is any Yamaha. Unless your a diver and a body builder!

  • all i would ever buy is a yamaha

  • Yamaha is the most dependable sled you can get and if you want a fast, jumping machine, you get the new Yamaha nytro rtx.

  • @Maddi7797 i have been crossing water with yamahas just fine for years now there is nothing wrong with and powerful sled

  • @Maddi7797 dude yamaha is the best

  • @Maddi7797 hey i got an mxz 583 awile ago check out my water skipping video's :D

  • go with skidoo rev xp its your best bet :)

  • what about rev 800 blair morgan edition? is it good for water crossing?

  • go with polaris they are dirt cheap

  • ya cause their dirt

  • @bwelsh321 Arctic Cat Firecats, they won't let you down.

  • @bwelsh321 any with "hill climb racer" or "snow pro" or "rmk in the name XD

  • @bwelsh321 an arctic cat z1 turbo, lol, jk, probably a 600 rev ho, its light, nimble, VERY powerful. that would be best.

  • Im 14 and Im taking my test this weekend, can't wait to hit the trails. I would love to do this but my dad would never buy me a sled then...

  • did u ever mess up on that

  • AHAH good question. whath appens if the snowmobile gets submerged in water?! can u dry it out and use it again?

  • it sinks .. that what happened to my first snowmobile :D its still under the ice ..

  • that sucks lol.

did u get a new one?

  • yeah even better but its been time since i used it.. i prefer atv's now =)

  • I hope you aren't riding on the groomed snowmobile trails with that atv!!!

  • im not, doin offroads :D

  • Glad to hear it. The atv's do a number on the snowmobile trails. Here in Massachusetts the season is too short and not always predictable, so when someone destroys the trails GRRRR.

  • If it sinks, and you can fish it out, yeah you can dry it out but you'll have to go through and drain the oil and the fuel and depending on how long the water was in there maybe rebuild the engine.

  • not to mention any sand that can get into the gas tank.. been there done that.

  • dude can you image ? its like 20 meters deep man.. go fish it up urself :P

  • Yeah, it takes very little work to get it running again too. We just take it all apart and dry it up with an air compressor.

  • Yeah! ;-0

  • cool video

  • how deep is michigan

  • SO your saying that skidoo formula deluxe 2000 600 could do water for a long time?....sweet:)

  • i went Down with my Sled in MICHIGAN

  • That was pretty Sick .. ?Been try to go also but my friends are retarted and wont go .. I have another sled .. Does anybody no if a skidoo formula deluxe 600 can hit water?

  • yep i have one as a old skrd skips fine

  • thats sweet what kind of pipe or canister jaws

  • that was sick!

  • We just got back from Wildcat canyon and dead river basin area. We rode on open water for a few miles....LOVE IT!

  • that would suck, Michigan is real deep, i doubt you'd get your sled back if you dipped her.

  • that was dope the last one was funnytrack stand

  • looks like fun

  • That was so nice, 5 sleds. was the last sled a stinger or a Nytro?

  • Fucking sweet!!

  • that guy at the end has a nice sled

  • you guys are nuts badass video though

  • That last one was definatly a CAT

  • cats cant swim lol

  • LLOLOLOL!!!!1

  • water skipping is a rush no need for drugs for those who say its not cool or shouldnt do it well stay home and watch you tube while we go out and have a blast

  • why r ppl leaving bad comments.who cares if they do this.maybee when one goes down they;ll hav it on vid.keep it up

  • If your any kind of prepared snowmobiler you always have a cell phone and a rope to pull someone to safety or your sled somewhere to be fixed weather you plan something like this or not!

  • i've known guys to get fined for reckless driving for doing this...up here in Canada anyway

  • The closest living thing near this area is a pair of Bald Eagles. I'm not so sure they could help save your life let along write you a ticket! NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY would have been a better opening I guess.

  • is fun but also a good way to loose your sled and get fined if caught

  • wait its aginst the law?

  • it's a fun way to have fun and have adrenaline rush ..and Why a police car would be park there waiting for these guys to cross ??

  • I live on Lake Michigan, and people do it after ice fishing. I've never heard against people getting fined.

  • lol that was funny the last sled almost fliped

  • fliped ??..it was just a very small wheelie ..I think you never drove a REV before ?

  • i want to do it so bad

  • the only bad thing is with the 03 revs is that how do you do a wheelie with that retarded snow flap on it?

  • i love doing this iin the summer

  • yamahas can ride on water..u just gotta no wat to do...not saying u dont but theres stuff u change around and u can run water on em

  • ski-doo and sea-doo have a lot in common obviously! lmmfao

  • no one was riding a yamaha because if they were it would have sunk. Yamahas cant drive on water.... seriously!

  • i did it on my 340 enticer idiot

  • not very far i bet lol

  • yup, i know exactly where that is, i thought it looked familiar. thanks

  • lol, the straggler did a wheelie, when he hit the shore,

  • where in michigan is this

  • Between the Paradise/Tahquamenon River and Bay Mills. Closer to Bay Mills. If you ride the shore line of Lake Superior you may ride right into it. We were there last year and this river mouth was frozen over.

  • Cool loved it check out my vids mostly mountain riding but water skiping in there as well

  • YEAH THATS COOL!!!!

  • that was cool...i love waterskipping my 440 sno pro!

  • holy cow man! must've been fun!!! i live up here in the north where the "eskimos" Inuit live and we do that with ocean water about a hundred feet deep, and 10-15 feet isn't that much, and ski-doos seriously can do that

  • if there wuz a yamaha there, it would have kicked ass

  • yamahas dont like water...no joke

  • Yamaha's don't like snow... no joke

  • Yamaha's don't like snow, they love it :p But seriously, Yamaha's don't like water.

  • Your right. We had one guy riding an Apex GT and almost submarined it. If it wasn't for the power and all the throttle it would take... It was a close call to say the least.

  • you guys are pretty brave. i live in michigan and that is probally one of the most deadly inland lakes in the USA. i wouldnt even trust it to ride on the ice. great video tho

  • okay buddy lake superior doesnt freeze over i cant tell u taht much ahh.. and y would this be fake ahha...

  • i do this every spring here in nome alaska on my 01 xcsp 500 sounds SICK over the water it was echoing all through the town when i went skipping but i put 9000 miles on it and is now burnt up sitting i my yard with a chip in the piston and scratches in both cylinders. will post a video of it when i fix it for winter lol

  • That can't be real?

is it? I assume it was only a small layer of water?

I know those ski-doo's accelerate really fast,

    but they're also very heavy..

    how deep was the water?

    honestly..

    still aweosme though.

  • You dumbass!! Of course its real. Lake Superior is deep as hell, my guess is they were in at least 10-15 feet of water Being that far off shore. Sleds are faster on water than most JetSkis.

  • Honestly, mxzx08 is right, every bit of 10'-15'. If your sled went down you weren't getting it back until spring. The current would have put into 100' of water by the time you got to it! This section of open water is at the mouth of a large river that carves out everything from the ice to the rocks on the bottom. If you watch closely you can see one sled had water spray on the clutch. He almost went down. He would be the last sled to hit land. Every sled in the video is stock!

  • i herd i was gong to a snowmobile watercross, an d i thought, ok, they get up some speed and cross some shallow water, but to my suprise they went around this lake like jet ski's can't belive it till you see it, and yes some sunk but it was incredible!

  • Somehow I've got the veeling you vould. You vuck!

  • vould love to see all those sleds sinking in the middle of it.

  • i basically did this when the ice started cracking underneath me =/

  • Keep them on a good steady diet of 93 Octane. Let off the gas and your done or should I say swimming. They don't like water on the clutches either.

  • did u do anything to the sleds to make them float?

  • you guys should come over here where there is 1 spot of water that never freezes over all year long and its about a mile long here in kuujjuaq quebec

  • where along lake superior is that?

  • Between Brimley and Paradise. I just returned from a trip to Brimley and that river was completely frozen over.

  • that is some COOL SHIT!!!

  • nice lake michigan huh?
