  • Now that is real training, good job boys

  • The message is clear, a knife attack is dangerous situation and very deadly. It is very difficult to defend because the attacher is usually crazed up and will repeatedly poke his victim, he'll even switch hands. In other words, unless the intent of the attacker is to kill you, you must do what ever it takes to minimize the damage and run away.

  • HORRÍVEL, NENHUMA TÉCNICA EMPREGADA. UMA CRIANÇA SE DEFENDERIA BEM MELHOR!

  • So according to these videos, when attacked with a knife, let them stab you until they're tired, then run like hell. Check.

  • That is pretty much how it works with a knife. Unless the person is trying to mug you and doesn't want to risk facing a murder charge, they will hold it out to threaten you. Otherwise the point is to stab you like a maniac until you are dead.

You can also tell in this video who the more advanced person is in defending. But even still he had a hard time avoiding getting hit with it. The whole point of the knife is that it is small and easy to conceal yet very deadly.

  • this is really good stuff , gives me an idea for my next class

  • Yeah it's impossible for a knife attack to happen the same way as if it was staged. I had that in surprise for my Karate students today, they thought it was going to be a dumb drill until they found out it was just a wild person grabbing and stabbing them. Heck I let them try it on me and I got stabbed a couple times before I could hit em or disarm em. The closest to a "defense" is step out of the knifes way and punch the neck otherwise, RUN!

  • jesus what are you teaching bare how to get stabbed lots .lol

  • This ain't knife defense, its how many times can I get stabbed?

  • well hes dead

  • do you have any reality based martial arts experience such as krav maga or japanese jujitsu at a good school?

  • Yup, best knife defense is sprint training...

  • Big mistake stepping back and allowing them to dictate the play when faced with 2 attackers, especially if you are aware of a knife being present, you must seize control and dominate the play immediately with focused aggression eliminating all hesitation utilising proper target accusation to inflict injury and if need be serious injury.

  • @thrillseeker70 I think I will try to run

  • The real defence versus a knife is to run though, no chance...

  • @Huselorten yeah I was thinking the same thing

  • I like how all these people are complaining that the guys get stabbed, and that the attacker aims for the gut.. DUH!

Look up some real information on actual knife attacks, stuff like this may not seem impressive but at least it's giving you real information on knife attacks..which evidentally alot of you need, lol.

  • All this back talk is crazy! All of you are right. Most knife attacks in the streets are lunge forward aim to the gut and this video shows how to at least defend from that with minimal harm to yourself. For those who practice knife fighting, most videos shown on YouTube advertising a martial arts are counter attacks from a skilled knife fighter as a defense to knife attacks from every angle. One way to gauge if an attacker is a skilled knife fighter is to observe how he holds the knife...if you

  • You guys are ignorant.

They train to get the "pigskin factor", so they´re never get cut... Being honest, this simply doesn't work. At all. The "good guy" gets at least three slashes or stabs in the begining of each situation - and still wins!!!

  • the attacker always tries to stab in the stomach... i find this unreal! the attacker won't need to come so close to injure. He can slash arms, legs, face with very quick movements.

  • @xcorsary I doubt if a slash to the arms will be enough to stop an opponent. I had a friend who cut is fingers with a knife and he still manage to reach the hospital without passing-out. I have even seen someone who had his stomach cut open in a rumble and he still managed to hit his opponent with a beer bottle in the head. He got to the hospital and was back to his merry ways 3 months later.

  • @xcorsary Most attackers will attack like in the video. Just look at statistics of knife attacks all over the world. You should train for all situations but this was the most realistic i have seen on youtube. most people that dis agree are the bruce lee wanabees who have practice a martial art for years and years, and don't want to accept the fact that what they have been doing is total horse shit. Street fighting is the best way. gross moter movements and working off adrenaline

  • Absolute horseshit. I guarantee you are going to get stabbed with this shite.

  • @FomaYas

    LoL

  • @FomaYas Just because your one of these martial artist living in a fantasy world.... You cant accept the fact that your years of training under master WHO-FLUNG-POOH has been a complete waste of time

  • @FomaYas Just because your one of these martial artist living in a fantasy world.... You cant accept the fact that your years of training under master WHO-FLUNG-POOH has been a complete waste of time

  • Control - Stun - Disarm.

  • Great!!

  • Distance yourself from any opponent always, but there is the difference of being threatened with a knife contra being attacked by one. It's sad to see that most "self defence videos" Really only shows how to preemptively disarm your opponent. But if someone is out for your life and your unawares... your screwed

  • the last one is the best, coz he just ran away. that's the best strategy

  • if i saw those two guys fixed on me and walking right towards me, i would place my hand on my 92fs and prepare for a draw

  • One thing about these videos I've noticed is that the knife attacker usually initiates the grappling. Most of the time he comes in and starts pushing or grabbing the victim before he starts stabbing.

  • Good training!

  • Lol in every situation the guy getting attacked gets stabbed like three times. What is the point of these stupid videos?

  • The point is to demonstrate how you DO NOT fight someone with a knife.

  • Lol well in that case these guys are doing a great job.

  • @aquaphone the point is that dont believe every stupid knife defence video you see out there. this is the real stuff. Defending a knife attack if the person carrying the knife is determined, is almost imposible. Search and find the red marker demostration.

  • @MachineFILTHY I think the point is to show that it's extremely rare for knife attack victims to escape unharmed, no matter how skilled or well-trained they are.

  • @MachineFILTHY To show that in this situation, anyone who isn't Bruce Lee would be fucked.

  • @MachineFILTHY thats how it is! try doing some knife fighting and you see this is true. in a knife fight the winner is the guy who bleeds less. you will get cut

  • @MachineFILTHY To show how a realistic knife fight would go down. It doesn't happen like how it's portrayed in most martial arts classes. If you get out alive, then you won. The less damage the better, but you have to assume if you get attacked by someone with a knife, you're going to get cut.

  • @MachineFILTHY REALISTICALLY the guy in white woulda been dead and not been able to do shit

  • in these scenerios the best thing to do is run away.

  • he should be dead by the third knife attack, how does hi block the knife to not cut his defense arm?

  • Great video, good work! People need to see this stuff. Really need.

  • This is so funny

  • Nick did well in the first attack.

those alley two on one attacks dam scary when one of them has a knife

Dave is quick but he had trouble finishing the knifer

at 2:05 maybe next time nick could roll on the side of the blade or trap the side of the blade with his arm and wieght.

Also guys maybe you could try stepping into the back of the knees or stepping onto th eankles at a 45 degrees

also guys maybe you must like to do some elbow breaks with your shoulders or upper arms

  • you guy are doing a great thing

    lots of self discovery here

also that work is clearly getting you guys in shape

however ,That looks like a real knife.

    Is it a training knife?

  • so true.this is how attackers in the street really attack..it's scary T.T ever since i had a close encounter last night. it's the closest thing i can relate to. running is the best way or throwing something..or both!

  • this is basicly are good training to survive the rough world we livin in.its reality enough.but thats a knife, it my country we use sword.u need to be flexible with any weapons.

  • in my country, we use .357 magnums to get things done. :)

  • a knife doesn't make a sound, as it can be drawn faster than a gun on most occasions, but yeah if one can blast fools up, that's the best option.

  • @lhlover52 Yep works for me,but there might be times a knife can help you hang on that ..357. I am recently disabled and now require the use of a cane. So I practice some stick and knife work if I need a second to go to my gun.

  • Is this in english ? LOL

  • Yes, it is in English. I like the way the "victim" is stabbed countless times in each scenario in critical areas but still manages to fight with the attacker as though nothing has happened...

  • It just displays how hard it really is to defend against someone unexpectedly slashing a knife against you.

Without a doubt one of the most hardest scenarios to defend yourself from. This video isn't about scenarios per se but rather how one should try and defend against it. Obviously they'd been killed if the above scenarios were real but that's not the point, they're just displaying their training.

  • This is a great way to train the only problem?

The defender cant go full force with out pads. He's stuck tryin to catch the knife while in a real situation you can hit back full force.

Check out the Human Weapon Krav Maga episode shows great training.

  • no that doesnt happen... its more like they put the knife to your throat. they dont just start stabbing you... i have NEVER seen ANYONE do that in any way.. they dont stab like that

  • I'm beginning to believ that there is very little you can do when being attacked by someone with a knife. I've seen pictures of people who have been sliced and stabbed and it's not pretty. Those cuts are deep and you bleed alot. As a martial artist I am unsure what I would do if I was being attacked this way.

  • Some wise old man once told me ,"you go into a knife fight EXPECT to get cut" Just make sure you live another day no matter what you do....

  • Good training but train to run first rather than cofront and take a streight hit what about voice defense or you see the knife and strick first hard and fast see it and make a move don't wait for the atack just go. As a guardian angel back in my early days as soon as I saw the weapon I would be in attack mode putting them right away in defense mode. If I can not win I run that works too. Watch Tony Blauer hes great.

  • I love the training methods in all these vids. Perfect way to train it. The techniques however leave a bit to be desired. A lot really. I saw at 00:48 the attacker shoves the guy off and he stands there waiting for the guy to come back at him.... dumb. If he creates distance KEEP HIM AT A DISTANCE. Until u can get away. If u cant really get away KEEP MOVING. DOnt stand there waiting for him to stab u. If he lunges at u an wrestles with u KEEP HIM OFF BALANCE. Its harder to stab u that way.

  • There's no way to survive that. If you're unarmed, and you get cornered by someone with a knife, you're pretty much fucked all the way around.

  • I saw a guy get stabbed outside our store when I was a kid. Two guys pushed him against the front window and stabbed him in the stomach. He just slid down slowly. Humans have a lot of blood....anyway, I think you've got it right. My martial arts instructor told us to run or throw shit. A guy in my gym was going to be attacked in a convenience store and he threw some cans and ran. He's still alive.

  • I find in most of the scenarios, as the attacker, or defender there is no comittment from both sides. Its not just a matter of pitting youre hands in the guys face, and it seems to just sudenly end. In real fights in the street it doenst stop beacause you put youre hands in somenes face. The deffenders are taking way to much time to try to stryke, aim for big targets and hit fast and hard...

  • I don't really know what you mean by committment and all that, but I'm not going to try to strike anyone flailing a knife with any part of my body.

  • this way to train against the knife all out!The techniques need some work but this how to get over the fear factor and how you learn to focus and execute.realism is the only way to train anything else and your setting yourself up to get hurt or killed.Good job guys.

  • most realistic training i've seen. no one likes to admit it but, this is what happens when you go up against a knife. you get cut, sometimes real bad. but never give up and cause as much damage as possible.

  • how do you get attacked on the ground with a knife? if the attacker brings you down and pulls a knife out you are dead!

fuck the grappling at that point, scratch bite KILL you got 10seconds (if) to fdo whatever it is you wanna do before you dieand IF you are LUCKy you survive on the ground

  • yet agian as in most of your videos, you are displaying more wrestling than striking, don't try to wrap your opponent up, punch the bastard. A swift kick to the ribs will stop anyone. Try to keep your distance, parry the knife rather than trying to grab it, You will use two hands to grab it leaving yourself open for other strikes, especially if you are on the ground.

  • simple way to check how good your knife defeneces are is to have your partner use a marker, any mark on some parts of the body can be fatal it a sharp knife hit its mark, some will bleed you out pretty fast.

  • where does the defense part come in? this looks worse than the sharon tate murder

  • Best knife defense here? RUN AWAY!

  • Oh, wait, was this knife defense? I thought they are practicing knife attack routines :-D

  • i agree with BILLKIPP 100% knife work is dangerous business. "martial artists" are so very duped when they think the fluffy nonsense they have been taught in any way approaches the viciousness and speed of an edged weapon attack. I teach krav maga and combatives.

  • agreed, and krav maga is all buisness

  • All dead. Realistic all right.

  • This video depicts the end of every party I've ever attended! Seriously this video misses the point. DON'T BE THERE!!!

  • Nice training. it shows the # one rule is control the weapon as quickly as possible, anfd avoid fancy disarms. And that most likely you will sustain cuts on the ride. It also shows the propensity to hold ones breath under duress and to go upper body. I am sure this video will set all the arm chair karate masters out there to roar with disapproval!

  • Amen Mr. Kipp.

  • you can get stabed even 10 times and survive, i got stabbed 2 times in stomache i didnt even know...

  • It that your argument that this is good knife defending? Be glad it wasnt a stab in the heart.

  • If the point of this video is to show that there is no real defense from a knife attack, then they should try this against instructors who actually claim to be able to do so.

  • Man those guys are all dead.

  • SAD! Nothing realistic about this "training" at all. There is no technique here that I can see, just grab and hope.

  • how else r u going to show ppl how u could defend a knife attack?

actually get someone to stab someone else?!

  • The attack is fine, its the defense that has no style to it. I fully agree training must be "live" to learn properly. If you wish to be able to defend your self you MUST train your body to react with control not fear. If you just flail about you have no control over yourself or your attacker.

  • What is this? The attacks are real but is this supposed to be a video to show how not to defend. The guy commenting "good job good" is he the instructor? If so what is he instructing? How to get killed? No tactical defense other than catch the knife in your body, all over your body. Silly video.

  • I couldn't agree more. After 2 good stabs that game would be over in reality

  • terrific material here. this is some of the best scenario training I have seeen

  • Those aren't real knives right? Because you can get rubber ones...

  • Probably just training knives that dont have sharp edges. The edges are really dull with no way to get cut or sharpen them. I have one from Hock Hochheim for $25 which is really good but a folder.

  • Oh. I was just wondering.

  • No problem. A lot of people get hung up on all the Kali/Arnis disarms and stuff like that that dont really work when you have a crazy person just swinging or thrusting at 1000 mph at you wit ha blade. Look into the correctional system and look for real knife attacks.

  • I was assaulted by knife wielding maniac the other day. i got away before they could use it on me. Best defence - get some distance between you and them and get the hell out of there.

  • Good Idea. If you're more than at least 2 meters between eachother, you have a slight chance at running. But otherwise learn knife defences.

  • I understand that knife defense is useful. but honestly i doubt you can protect yourself from 2 people with knives unless their top of the line amature. especially if its a random or a surprise attack and your stabbed a couple times.

I would just protect my self from the knife while yelling for help. or buy pepper spray

  • What if you get stabbed while yelling for help? Its good to at least look at some type of realistic knife defenses to have a little bit of life insurance. This is a good vid. You could look into Jim Wagners knife defense vid or get RED ZONE by Jerry Wetzel. Those are really good realistic, no b.s. instructional vids to learn from. Very similar to this vid here. Kudos

  • i suggest those guys to train arnis/kali/escrima or krav maga! and please... i hate the comments from the knife nerds here!! yeah its reality but its as if they know everything! an escrima or krav maga practitioner is really hard or if not.. impossible to murder by just a knife!!

  • Great video! I'm glad to see some realism here on YT at least.

  • there is no real tactical advantage towards a knife attack it is a random attack if you cant run then spit kick scream your way out of the situation...

  • What a way to expel excess adrenaline...not to mention spill blood when you fail....

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......

Dear me..... yeah, that's a good statement... Make them laugh, they'll have a hard time killing you....

  • Good try lads, but it works less in a harsh scenario. Anyway, this is good confidence training although confidence would you really build up when you survive a knife attack. the best defense is really to run and pick up a stick there you'll get a chance. Better yet, make an early preemptive strike to the eyes or neck.

  • WTF?! Most of those scenarios you would have bled to death by then! who uses headlock when a vigilante has a knife?! REDIRECT, CONTROL and ATTACK, then disarm!!

  • when i get a gun ill strap it to my leg for easy grabbing.

    knive vs gun?

    knive guy runs away

  • knife you dumbass, theres only one of them

    plural is knives

  • sorry but at the time my keyboard was dead.

    the f wasnt working

plus my freind gave me a dollar to say somthing stupid

  • what about the 'f' in for???

    lol!

  • the key was jammed. i almost broke it trying to get the "f" in for.

i didnt want to break it so i put knive

  • was so funny

  • i think you guys are doing it horribly, and you need to practice harder. If you're getting approached by two possible attackers...the last thing you wanna do back up into the wall. And reaching for their arm and inner body will get you too close and stabbed multiple times before disarming anything. You're supposed to redirect the attack not fumble into it.

  • It's a realistic scenario. Most people would back into the wall. This wasnt supposed to be a "How to defend a against" type of thing, it was scenarios. But at least U were trying.

  • Haha.

  • WTf?? 1:47 "sink ya teeth into him" lol

Teeth VS Knife... dead people don't bite

  • Great stuff guys, very impressive :) Keep up the hard work :)

  • This isn't self defense? The guy get's stabbed 50 times before the knife is gotten. Your technique stinks.

  • No. They just train the right way - you obviously never did the same.

  • as you see if your opponent with a knife best way - flee any ppl from this vid who have been attacked with knife in RL will be already dead or look like Swiss cheese

  • ALL of the ukes here die.

  • Excellent video, and commentating advice. The best thing you can do in this sort of situation is grab, and control, his knife-hand. In all these scenarios, the knife hand of the attacker remained one. A double hand attack is more difficult. But if you get two hands on his one hand or arm, you can work his own knife against him, quickly in a pumping action.

  • how many times do I have to say it: train with a red magic marker, not a fake knife. show your students what the damage would look like using raw pork. Good job training them to run away though! That's the best thing you're teaching.

  • wow good job capturing the messiness and aggression of these situations.

  • DUDE if he had stabbed you like THAT .. you'd be dead... really. To much shock, to much blood loss. Eh.

  • A cold steel long range knife fighter would make confetti of any of these guys.

  • Is it possible you can enlightnen us on what exactly is a cold steel long range knife fighter. Cold steel just manufactures knives and gear, and i'm sure there is no thing as a Cold steel Knife fighter lol.

    aj

  • nice but he gets stabbed alot i think if u get stabbed that many times ur not gunna have the energy to fight back

  • if the victim block the attach one time with the hand, the next attack will go to the arm. In the videos de "assasin" only go to the abs and this is nonsense So... better to run before try to stop anything.

  • yeah, run or die??

I preffer training, but this people dont have style

But good work. that blocking is a shit

  • This video is really, really good! It looks very real! Good job!

  • Excellent. They are right, do whatever you have to do to get out of a bad situation/

  • ok one thing you can do is forget about the knife treat it like its not there if you look at their over all body movement they all lean head first in simply kick em in the face they fall down no one in thier right mind will rush u with a knife like that i did some knife fighting for the forces training and you treat it like an extention of your body. dont grab just hit the knife hand hard or the arm and proceed to hit the target in the face to knock out

  • Not bad, (not dead!) but you guys really need some more technique, there are to many strikes to deal with and you really need to be no top of the first move have a look at my stuff on the link, Its not as fast so you can see what's happening, keep it up!

  • defence against a knife is very hard, I am sure the guy is been stab a couple of time.

  • fuck that ...no disarm...if you can grab the wrist in a positive and negative double grip...he still is focuses on getting that fucking knife cack,,push it into him but never disarm...fuck that...and yes if you can run..do so...but if not...and you are forced...never disarm...its a mental thing...

  • ya, best thing is to run as fast as you can.

i would rather run before he grabs me or keep spinning/twisting in the opposite dirrection of the knife until i can get loose enough to run.

if you cant get free kick at him, better get cuts on your leg then in vital organs. you can also distance yourself better that way.

  • If you are cornered and cannot escape, defend yourself. Wrap your arm with a jacket or shirt so that the knife will not cut an artery. This will allow you block with the wrapped arm and attack with the other arm.

  • You can't possibly defend yourself after being stabbed multiple times. The loss of blood is just too great.

The best way to avoid the situation is to keep your distance. If in the event the attacker is too close to you, aim for the balls or eyes. This will give you enough time to run away. Yes it is cheap shot but he has a knife.

  • wow that was intense! I like it

  • Great idea, but they should research also regarding techniques on how to defend oneself from an armed assailant. I suggest kali. Good luck guys!

  • poor teknik

  • Run!

  • Realistic yes... and the individuals were very INEFFECTIVE. Get some real knife training, seriouslly, its not a joke and Im not joking around... its like a multi million dollar production company having the perfect location to shoot a movie, and having no name talentless baboons as the cast. WORK ON YOUR DEFENSE'S. -b boy

  • I would recommend kali-eskrima training as it teaches realistic knife disarms and defences

  • yes i also think its stupid to do this...most people are surprised if they see a knife and i wont try to take somebody his knife away...i think a fast kick to the opponents head is more effective and you maybe just get your leg cut;)

  • Gonna have someone's eye out training with a metal knife like that. Great training though.

  • great training. Just need to hit more, I'd also work on the multiple assailant stuff some more. The defender is letting the alpha and bravo stack odds against him. All in all, great approach.

  • I think each of them dies about 50 times. The one thing this teaches is dont screw with a guy with a knife. Give him your wallet, run away. Someone pulls a knife on you, they probably wont mind killing you.

  • Very realistic training, but it all looks pointless. I didn't see even one person defend himself from any attack. Everyone ended up dead in the end. So what's the point?

  • that is the point! it is very difficult to defend yourself against the knife, almoust impossible.. when you see knife you run..fast!

  • good shit ! I like it

  • Solid training guys but I'm a bit confused didn't the guys in the video who were defending get stabbed several times before they took it to the ground?

  • Good Video guys!

  • I think the counter measures r stupid. By the time u subdue the attacker, u wld have been stabbed many times at vital areas, causing heavy bleeding or even temporary paralysis. A real knief will cut into flesh & bone, severing nerves & arteries. The scenario is real in the sense that it has the same kind of violence, but not the same kind of results. It becomes much more obvious if u replace the knife with a gun. All it takes is one good clean stab(shot), & u're dead.

  • Dang. That is seriously realistic trainin. Are these guys in the UK? I gotta get to train with these guys somehow. If anyone can tell me anything about training like this or knows how I can get in touch with these guys then E-Mail me at balense_alllstarr71@hotmail.com or add me. Someone with any info about this or someone who would just like to have arguments and dicussions about realistic training please get in touch with me. I would be so grateful.

  • Join our forum at defend.net...I'm under there as Garland...we post some good shit in our Urban Combatives forum and our FMA forum. In fact, I hope the people who posted this vid originally aren't upset I posted it there. (they've seen it, and posted some comments)

  • Good stuff, have you guys tried to use the initial push from the knifer as a cue to quick step back to get some more distance. What's up with closing in and trying to keep close. Just trying to guage your perspective.

  • Still...probably the most realistic knife training I've seen...
