When he says mugged he uses it as slang to state how people have been insulted or disrespected rather than the normal term meaning someone who has been robbed or has had property stolen.

I approve ! Most people don't give a shit about politics these days. The economy is bad....and no one has the answer, even our so called savior "Obama". We need a third or fourth party in this country....if people have the guts to vote away from Democrat or Republican.

Hold on: looks very much like mid-70's street life spliced with late 70's: any suggestions as to which garbage strike went on for "years and years"? There was a Tower Hamlets strike in 73, but all the garbage footage here is from the 'Winter of Discontent', 78-79 (see the Damien - Omen II cinema billing), the newsreel filmed perhaps as long as a year after the Pistols had split, when punk was losing ground to new wave.
England imported labor from Jamaica to rebuild after the war. Even more people came from the islands after independence was granted in 1960. Jamaica was left in ruins. There was a lot of tension with the arrival of a new working class.
Lydon grew up in the middle of it all and Jamaican music is a huge influence on his musical outlook.

@Porzstar to a certain extent..she is correct. HOWEVER it has nothing to do with the SKIN COLOR. But with the influx of new immigrates coming from the Caribbean and other places to England in the 70's did become part of the employment force.....particularly the unskilled labor force so the working class suffered of the UK. So I understand where she's coming from.
