  • Paul Rodger is my favorite vocalist

Every 0ne please check out my video I posted I wrote for my dad. I play and sing it.

Just click my name, the other song I wrote for all who have died for our freedom..

Please click my name I think Paul influenced my more than any other artist.

  • Paul Rogers' dancing is the best

  • WHERE CAN I FIND THIS FOOTAGE??? ??

  • @Marineincident91 Well its actually Kossoff's brother Simon filming them live at Ealing Technical College in 1969 where he attended. Unfortunately there's no audio it was just film.

  • @hendrix950 Aww too bad ehh! I can tell theyre playing Ride On A Pony...would have made a great concert video.

  • @Marineincident91 Its on the Free Forever dvd

  • this song is the stealer

  • check out Alvin Youngblood Hart's version

  • Kossoff, pure brilliance; Rodgers; perfect.

  • rare footage. like it.

  • i`ve

really enjoyed watching this video especially the synchronization between image and sound..............

  • what live footage is this

  • DP parallel

  • so damn good!!!!

  • If Paul Rodgers had sang in Cream then Jackie boy could have played bass all day long and we would have the best group ever without a shadow of a doubt!!

  • @gazzaboy2531977 Cone on man Jack was incredible too.

  • @rrr1063 too right he was mate

  • @gazzaboy2531977 Yes,but in Cream singing wasn`t too important....

  • Politician..

  • cool stuff indeed, love free, a masive fan of them, pure quality rock band, just cant get enough of them

  • whats song playing ?

  • The Worm.. off the album" Free" The audio to the video was lost by paul kossoff's brother

  • whos dumb idea was it to leave this off the free anthology CD,let alone the album it was supposed to be on-IMO it's better than all right now

  • yes, worms & politicians are very similar...

  • @smudgeblooze Please don't insult worms like that.

  • Legendary. Been finding some good ones tonight...

  • yeah except its better than Politician, which is hard for me to say.I'm a huge Jack bruce fan.Which is odd cause I'm a drummer.Anyone in southeast Pa wanna start a band I could use some guitarits in my part of Pa. Rick 215 781 9204

  • The riff reminds me of Politician by Cream .

  • this song never even made it onto the album. shows you how great this band was. what a gem though! thank god for the re-issued re-masters!

  • Get the DVD Free forever.. its great.. Good interviews

  • With respect to anyone who thinks this vid was fimed by Paul Ks son ? This clip was shot circa 1969 Paul K was just 19, so his son would have been too young at the time of the gig. It was filmed by his brother Simon who happens to share the same name as Pauls son..

  • i know this is a bit of a spam.. but ..if you like free please check out swampfreaks ..ta

  • does anyone know if paul has a daughter called natalie? i know he has steven and jasmine but he mentions natalie on the album???

  • Real good musos here

  • Paul Kossoff had two kids - a boy and a girl - but I'm not sure of their names. He has a brother called Simon but he still lives in the UK and works in television as a cameraman.

  • Ok, Kossoff did indeed have a son called Simon who may be living in the States at present. His daughter is Rebecca.

  • Sorry,I didn,t know he had a son .

  • You mean Simon Kirk-I presume.

  • No, they are talking about Paul Kossoff's son Simon

  • love this shit thanks for puttin her up

  • great song.

same sort of feel as politician by cream.

  • Correct! And worms are also quite similar to politicians

  • killer band

  • @mistercrackers

Yeah, i noticed the politician vibe there too. Both great bands

  • @mistercrackers yeah defo got the same vibe as you on that one mate.

  • @mistercrackers Same kinda tune same simplicity. A Fair Pair. Something never got even close by anyone.

  • Koss has a son Simon Paul Kossoff lives in Kansas - Google his name you will see him - He looks like dad........and is talented as well - Saw Free back in Liverpool early 70's five encores Amazing Blondell were on the gig as well they got 3 encores -

  • he is his brother, not son.

  • No, the poster is right. Both Paul's brother and his son are called Simon

  • David Kossof, his father, was an actor. There is a 59' film with Peter Sellers and jean Seberg, featuring Paul's father. It's called "The mouse that roared". Anyway, Free was so great and Fraser is my all-time favorite bass player.

  • i googled him and i still cant find him...i went to web and images so idk...lol

  • I've just googled Simon Kossoff and there he is on my space living in Overland Park Kansas

  • whos simon kossoff?

  • Paul Kossoffs son who he had with Sandhe..........

  • well spotted - that's a beautiful 59 Les Paul that Koss is playing - and I don't know why more bass players don't use the EB3's

  • That is indeed a nice les paul but I was wondering, how do people tell what year a les paul is?

  • If I'm not wrong this was filmed by Koss's brother Simon who is a cinematographer at his old school and is on the Free Forever dvd - I'd watch these guys any time -

  • well spotted!! You're right it's riding on a pony - god they were amazing -

  • They're doing Ride on Pony - Koss is playing in E major (you can tell cause he bars the B major). Rogers is singing the first verse at the beginning (it's easy to lip read him)

  • The riff sounds pretty similar to Cream's "Politician".

  • Yeah as a Free fan since 1968 when I saw "Tons of Sobs" advertised in a trade mag that I bought as it listed the top 100 (or was it the top 1000 singles - trouble was they were in alpha, not chart, order but can't remember the name of (can anyone name it for me?), I must say that Simon's film footage is terrific - it's a great tragedy that the matching audio was lost. Perhaps someone who can lip-read can tell you the tracks they're actually doing on these clips.

  • I believe they're playing "The Hunter", but I didn't catch the lead intro. Great footage shot by Simon Kossoff (Paul's older brother, obviously).

  • Forgot to mention: Listen to Kossoff's playing on 'Time Away' on his 1973 "Back Street Crawler" album. That is raw, powerful and moving blues guitar.

  • what song was this vid actually from, and post that original vid mate!

  • This is silent footage, if that's what you mean.

  • Koss was no B.B. King or Jimi Hendrix, but he definitely had the feeling and skills to play soulful and solid blues-rock guitar. Just listen to his wonderful work on Free's debut album "Tons of Sobs", and on 1969's "Free". Even when he was ill in 1972 and 1973, his playing was still generally pretty good. Kossoff's style is always very distinct and recognizable, and it's obvious that he had a real feel for the blues. Combine that with his ability to rock, and you have a great guitarist!

  • okay how amazing is free like water and fire. the worm so unreal and malmsteen sucha joke watch his vid on him trying to play blues biggest bullshit ever

  • dont hate on mal...he no blues player...but anyway u knew he was good but u wanted to hate on em because u dont even play the guitar and u hate to watch other people be successfull...i kno ur kind ur a joke

  • oh tough guy on youtube i dont care i'll hate on mal im not the only one to ever do it cuz hes garbage at the blues he think doing a speed metal solo with a blues beat in the background is blues he should look a bb-king

  • hahahaha man .. i will tell you one thing listen to peter green's feelings, u can feel them trough his guitar..then you will know malmsteen's the joke! you can have all the technical skills you wan't but if you ain't got no feeling you're not worth of holding a guitar....

  • hahahaha man .. i will tell you one thing listen to peter green's feelings, u can feel them trough his guitar..then you will know malmsteen's the joke! you can have all the technical skills you wan't but if you ain't got no feeling you're not worth of holding a guitar....

  • hahahaha man .. i will tell you one thing listen to peter green's feelings, u can feel them trough his guitar..then you will know malmsteen's the joke! you can have all the technical skills you wan't but if you ain't got no feeling you're not worth of holding a guitar....

  • i agree wholeheartedly!!!mind you,i am a bass player lol

  • Great track sounds like Cream 'The Politician' riff

  • i thought that too and the bassest uses a eb3 bass like jack bruce

  • they certainly had a magic together they just blow me away always have done wow factor99.875- sometimes off the wow scale !!

  • Yngwie ain't no joke dude.

  • コゾフ最高!!!

  • Yngwie Malmsteen is a joke

  • Exactly! people who are shredders don't mean that they are the best. People who could express themselfs through the music are the best. Yngwie Malmsteen is fast, and talented and good. But he ain't the best.

  • At a time when most kids today are impressed with power chord "shredders" and baroque scales Paul Kossoff comes as a relief. His playing was the complete reverse even though he was classically trained. Paul had a blues heart like Mike Bloomfield & Peter Green and the ability to bring you to your knees.

  • does anyone know what song Free are actually playing in this clip? it looks pretty early on, maybe around the time of Fire & Water..but then again that was their third lp so..great to hear the worm, bit of a lost classic.

  • great

  • I can't get enough Kossoff. What is it about great guitarists and tragedy? Jealous god.

  • rotagen5; I know what you mean but i don't think God has anything to do with it. It seems like some of the most gifted musicians are also the most tormented. Digging for creativity causes demons to be unearthed. To 'quell the demons' substances are used. It was like this for Jimi & Janis too. Koss was unique. He tore my heart out with one note.

  • I love of the video doesn't even match the song!

  • The point being ?

This actually brought tears to my eyes when i first heard it

  • 'Beat you like a mule'..Love it.

  • oh yeah i just noticed that.. ALSO the remastered version of Free's second album just entilted "free" has the worm also on it in the bonus tracks :)

  • You sure know a lot about Free!!! ^^

  • oh yeah and the "Paul Kossoff blue blue soul" cd is different from "paul kossoff blue soul", make sure its the one with two blues ;D that's the one which tracks from the double album "koss" and it has the worm as the first track! its actually almost identical to that stone free cd i own, and which is almost impossible to find.. i think its out of print.. but blue blue soul should be available! and also the collection.. they have the worm on it :) i hope this helps!

  • its on at least three cds, "Paul Kossoff stone free" which is hard to find, and then its on "Paul Kossoff blue blue soul" and its on "songs of yesterday Free box set" and actually i think it might also be on a cd called "paul kossoff the collection"

  • Wow, superb! Any idea where this can be found on CD?

  • its on free bbc seccions cd its all live. i got it from virgin i think its well worth it

  • Hmm. I have that CD, and it's not on there...

  • Hi there,

This is on the Kossoff double album just called Koss

  • loads of free was inspired by cream^_^ its still great though and i wouldnt call it a rip.

  • It might have been inspired by Cream's Politician, maybe, but it stills rock, and i'm more an Cream fan than Free.

  • yeah i love this song to death.. it was on the B side of an early free single i think.. b side of broad daylight i think

  • Great tune.

The main riff seems inspired by Cream's 'Politician'.

  • Greeeeeat !!!! New Free stuff ... I love it ... Thank you
