I've been searching for a true "chewy" oatmeal raisin cookie recipe for yearsssss but it never was really chewy. This sure sounds/looks great. Thank you for sharing.
@DjYeroc123 You can get brown sugar from the grocery store (should be with the white sugar or you can make some with 1 tablespoon of (unsulfered) molasses and 1 cup of granulated cane sugar!
Help me here please. I followed the instructions step by step but the cookies never dried and stayed like uncooked inside. I tried againg leaving them a pair of minutes more in the oven but even when they looked really brown outside, they stay uncooked in the inside and now they are like melted dough :(. What am I doing wrong?
Is your brown sugar as hard as a brick!! The Banana Seal will keep your brown sugar soft and fresh for months - right in the bag it came in! Check it out at this website: SaveTheBananaSeal
OMG OMG OMG! THESE COOKIES ARE SOOO GOOD! I DIDNT HAVE A FOOD PROCESSOR SO I JUST USED A FORK TO MASH THE RAISINS INTO THE WATER IN A SEPERATE BOWL AND IT WORKED OUT PERFECT! THANKS SOOOO MUCH FOR TAKING THE T IME OUT TO SHARE THIS "OFF THE HOOK" RECIPE! God Bless!
It may sound silly but I thinks its absolutely crucial to involve your children in cooking, being careful of course with fats and heat and boiling water.....but I will never forget I baked my first cake with my mother when I was 5...by the time I was 8 I was cooking full blown meals...yup....you would be amazed at what will stick with a child....so take the time, its worth it!!!
Those are the best homemade cookies I've seen (being made). Thanks for showing exactly when to take them out... word are good, but seeing the actually texture's a great help!
My first attempt at making cookies was using the oatmeal raisin recipe on the Quaker Oats box, and those were horrrrrrible. These look much tastier!
my boyfriend loves oatmeal raison cookies, i bought all of the ingrediants and i'm going to make them tonight!!! i printed ur recipe from ur blog and i'll let u know how it turns out. im making a batch for my family first to get their opinions, and tomorrow the real test, i'll let u know how my bf reacts!!!!!!!!!!!
****update!!!! they all loved it! it came out exactly as u said it would, chewy and jam packed with raisins. i made them a bit small, maybe 2 inches in diameter. the batch made me 40 and a bit? baked them, and within 24 hours they were all gone, my boyfriend said they were "damn good" verbatim. thank u so much for an easy to follow recipe for a novice cook like me, i appreciate it so much!
I just baked the cookies. I used old fashion oats. I don't think I should've used them. I don't know if these cookies turned out good. I feel like they didn't bake long enough. I don't know what I did wrong.
i love love LOVE oatmeal raisin!! mmmm.. add in some dried cranberries and a tiny bit of shredded coconut..... omg... i should stop writing now..... *_*
@divascancook Im trying to cut white flour out my diet, is wheat flour ok? I know it's heavy but do you know any unrefined flour i can use instead of white all purpose?
Awww look at Isaac! He's such a cutie pie! How old is he now?
I love oatmeal cookies! There's this bakery in my neighborhood that makes these rich delicious melt in your mouth oatmeal cookies, and I've been trying to find a good recipe so i can save my allowance and make oatmeal cookies myself and looky here I found it! thanks Mrs. Monique!
@ShaunieceCooks Girl he is 3 and a MESS!!! lol I have to edit him out of every video because he takes over. Let me know how the recipes comes out for ya!
I haven't tried your recipes, yet but I have a handful of them I plan to start trying this weekend. You are very awesome at what you do and I love how you sing your words..it's too funny!!
Question: Do you think I could substitute whole wheat flour for the flour, half applesauce & half butter for the butter, & just brown sugar to make it a 'tad' bit healthier? I'm on a health-kick this year! :)
