This is one of the most consistent spots on the west coast. It breaks year round and often times can be surfed alone or with just a handfull of guys. If you mind your manners, wait your turn, and don't arrive with an insta-crowd you may not even get hassled...

this is the only point break in oregon that breaks with any regularity, it's cold fickle and hardly worth the time.. if you come here you might get a wave, but most likely it will be howling onshore and raining sideways

yeah, localism north of point conception is relatively pointless, there are just too many waves and too few surfers. I'm sure some people will disagree, but as someone who grew up riding in san clemente and san diego, I can assure you that the locals at points north are way more mellow. Half the times I rode ways in the Bay Area, I went looking for crowds of people just so I could lessen the risk of shark attack.

I don't live in Seaside Oregon but I've traveled here three times to visit my brother and his wife. All three times I've got great waves with zero problems from locals. I've learned two things in my time spent at Seaside.

1) The wave is not as good as everyone claims, but it still worth surfing.

2) The local vibe is mostly internet hate on message boards. I've never had a problem here.

Everyone go to SEASIDE, OR! Best wave around. Just look north towards the point, from Seaside Beach, which is located in the town of Seaside Oregon. Seaside is an amazing left point as you can see. It gets really good on medium sized NW swells. You can drive out to the point. Be sure to check Google Earth to see the setup and then gout there. Seaside Point rules!

I don't know why you posted this if you don't like crowds. Anyhow, I moved to the area and got to know some locals and was invited to surf the wave a couple of times, but I respect it wave and know I'm not up to par yet, so I decided to wait a little. Loc's should be nicer sometimes, but then again, nobady should surf the wave that isn't good enough. Besides, if you want to hike a couple of miles you can get to spots no-one is at anyway. Try your tube skills there, just don't die.
