I have an iPhone 3GS version 5.0.1 and baseband 05.16.05! I would like know if is possible to unlock it and how? Do you I have to install the iPad baseband 06.15.00? Or is possible to unlock it with the actual baseband?

My iPhone 3gs had third, fourth and fifth serial number 136, means, uncompatable with any unlock, and if i tried it, then i will brock my iPhone forever (as many said in youtube videos). @Rakhify no this method is not compatible with the new versions, snowbreeze has a warning that explains about the newer phones. don't try this if your iPhone is a newer 8 gb model because that is what it is referring to.

@HeroHelps no there is no way to downgrade or upgrade. not sure on the estimated time but another choice may be the gevey sim, it's reported that they are working on a new one which is ready to be released to the public.

@HeroHelps yeah that explains it, your baseband is not supported by ultrasnow. you might have to wait for the updated version of ultraslow to be released.

hey guys i managed to unlock my phone perfectly and your tutorial worked amazingly! BUT I have a problem. I have an iPhone 3Gs 32GB (White) Originally on OrangeUK and now I am using it on ThreeUK which ONLY USES 3G (NO 2G) and it works, however when I try to use safari or ANY network data, it cuts the signal and then says "Searching" then it gives me signal and i can access the internet for a few seconds then it does it again. is there any solution?

i have a 3gs using 5.0.1 and bb 5.16.05 i unlocked it using redsnow by accident and didnt jailbreak it at all it was just unlocked. someone accidently reset it and now its back on att how can i unlock it again with out upgrading baseban to 6.15 again. somehting has to work. i was just using it for a week with no problems and great service

@bigdave8484 i don't know what you did to get it to unlock without jailbreaking but i don't know of any method that will get it back to your previous state. But at least you have the option to still unlock using this method.

I have an iPhone 3Gs 32GB (White) Locked to Orange UK. I am on ThreeUK which only uses the 3G signal (no 2G). I had jailbroken my iPhone using Redsn0w and all went well. Then I upgraded my baseband (did not preserve) to ipad 06.15.00 using redsn0w and then went to cydia and installed Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 and put my ThreeUK sim in my iPhone and it said "No Service" then when I cycled Airplane Mode it said "Sim Failure" and "Invalid SIM"

Ok found solution all I did was upgraded to 5.0.1 with iTunes stock ipsw, then I just went into redsn0w and jailbroke it normally. Then I went into cydia downloaded ultrasn0ws new thing, rebooted and it's been working since...hope it works for you...credit goes to everythingapplepro

As for you people with Ipod Touches, you do not need to unlock, as unlocking only allows Iphones to get a service signal. You only need to jailbreak :)

Dosen't work. Jailbreaked with Redsn0w 0.9.9b9, didnt have to use snowbreeze because im already on bb 06.15.00. Installed Ultrasn0w 1.2.5, rebooted, and i get no signal. It have been searching for about one hour now.

I live in sweden my phone is locked to "TRE" and i have an "TELIA" sim card.

The only thing thats come up during the search progress is that i can update my Carrier settings, and i did but still no signal.
