Rand, according to his orthodox Libertarian beliefs, would have it that no business should be regulated by government, seeming to equate a multi-national corporation like BP w/ an average citizen. This 'hands off' approach would mean that, for example, corporations who make billions in the coal industry should not have to adhere to federal safety regulations. Tell that to the families of the 29 dead coal miners. Greed has a human cost.

There is regulation, that is what the government is for to protect people from things individuals do not have the power over (defense, infrastructure, etc.) or don't have any real part in. My sense it that he is not a raving racist, but that he is such an extremist re the proper role of government that he would allow any and all businesses [ and private universities, country clubs] to practice discrimination, setting civil rights back 50 years. @calimar28 Well, I wouldn't say Ron Paul is an amazing speaker. He actually has about as much charisma as a tack. But what he does have is logic, principle and intelligence, something that is VERY scarce in congress today. He also has no special interest ties. He TRULY represents the people, and the people honor him for it. I personally believe that he really did single-handedly save the government. He kept people from revolution by keeping a spark of hope alive, that it can be fixed.

@europa Welll, yes, but that's the definition of charisma. Understand, I'm not dogging on Ron Paul. He's the only good politician out there-- with the exception of Rand as soon as he gets into office, but he does have a lot of trouble talking sometimes. It doesn't really matter. He gets his point across and he is fighting for us. So we will continue to fight for him.
