In terms of the directing - there was too much panning - you barely saw the "letter choreography" ..... great performance by all though.... :)

Superb choreography. Just a shame the TV director ruined it for viewers by ridiculous over-use of the jib-crane camera. Do we really want to see mostly long shots of the backs of the crowd...I think not.

I went to see the show on Broadway in August hoping to see her but she was in Paris on holiday sadly.

still we had a superb understudy under the name Catherine Walker and she was perfection!

All the rules of English appear to suggest that it should in fact be two words - 'supercalifragilistic' and 'expialidocious'.

'-istic' is usually a suffix and 'ex-' is usually a prefix, plus the letter C isn't usually pronounced hard when followed by an E.

I can't belive, that Scarlett is only the second Mary on Broadway.... She's practically perfect =) I am also a little disappointed that I saw her on Broadway. She was so awesome, that there will be NO other Mary for me! So, when they will bring Mary Poppins to Germany, I am not going to see it. It can't be better than the show on Broadway with Scarlett...

No - Scarlett has never been an understudy Mary Poppins. She's played the role on three separate occasions now, twice in London (first taking over from the original Mary, Laura-Michelle Kelly, then returning after Lisa O'Hare - who DID understudy the part before taking over in her own right - left) and now on Broadway until October. @doctorbaz2000 did you know that Scarlett Strallen is going to be performing alongside Gareth Gates at the lovely Manchester Bridgewater hall in a concert called Valentines at the musicals this weekend? should be fun. I am seeing her in Birmingham on Sunday and can not wait. She was a great Mary.

When I saw it on Broadway, I saw Scarlett Strallen, but Jane and Michel Banks were played MUCH better people. (Especially Jane, she was EXELENT!) They were played by Alison Horowitz and Neil McCaffrey. Both very, very good.

Scarlett is just a lovely Mary Poppins. Gorgeous voice. A great combination of Julie Andrews and Ashley Brown. She is wonderful :-)

I've seen video clips of Scarlett and she seems like a lovely person. Her portrayal of Mary is very different from Ashley and Laura Michelle Kelly (the original London Mary).

just noticed that the sound and the video do not work as the video is quicker than the music....

The master copy I have is of much higher quality than this and the sound/video are synchronised perfectly. Uploading videos to Youtube tends to cause a slight delay in the soundtrack. It's nothing to do with the performance itself.
