  • H.L.Gates represent a Class of Typical Afro-American who is completely out of touch with the plight of the Black-Male in America.H.L.G. obviously doesn't understand, there's safety in numbers. His numbers(black men) has been severely reduced, leaving him and many others like him venerable to Police harassment. The Escapism of the Black Bourgeois is now starting to haunt them.Perhaps this is a sign,of things to come?

  • @cocoadread If you had really heard the 911 call, you'd realize that the white woman who called the police, didn't even know the race of the men breaking in to the house. She just reported 2 men breaking in, and when the 911 operator asked their race, she wasn't sure.

This was a case of a professor grandstanding, & then tried to benefit financially from the situation. Unfortunately he ran into a cop who spends his spare time working with troubled minority youth, & he looked foolish.

  • look at all these nubs looking stupid with their stupid faces. false arrest!!! yes that was wrong stupid fucks.

  • Classic example of "Dont bite the hand that feeds you"

  • I knew -when these black officers spoke up that they would be accused of being "uncle Toms".....I just knew it....throw 'em under the bus because they stood up for a cop who happens to be "white"....forget everything they may have done in their lives to help their own race....this is just nuts.

  • if the police walked away and there was a burgler in the home and gates was hurt ... we would be screaming that the police did not do enough to protec t him because he was black... i refuse to make jugements without knowing the full story

  • there is a descrepancy with the police report and Lucia Whalen's 911 call...that's the only thing that doesn't sound right with Crowley.

Also,Prof. Gates statements don't match up with witnesses (see Gayle King's interview on Oprah radio)

    Gates' statements

  • How hilarious is it that this idiot screaming racism calls a black person a 'SAMBO'?

My gosh the hypocrisy is staggering.

And it's nice that CNN's resident priest in the Church of The One, Don Lemon, gets completely PWNed by blacks willing to speak their mind instead of falling in line to jump at the bid of their democratic masters.

    Priceless.

  • You couldn't possibly be calling me an idiot for screaming racism because I never did. My comments are generalizations of an example of a black man in a position of perceived power when he feels he has to live up to the acceptance of dominating whites, whom he believes is in control of his livelyhood. Surely you will be able to get on with your life now. I know I will.

  • If this man is a SGT on a police force that is notorious for having complaints of racial profiling lodged against it by non-white students at Harvard, then he's probably a Sambo. Ethnicity aside, cops protect other cops at the expense of truth and justice anyway. If Dr. Gates showed ID in his own home, attitudes and egos aside, he shouldn't have been arrested in his own home.

  • ...it doesn't make sense...he's black too. Did you hear the other "CNN Interviews Cambridge Cop Sgt. Leon Lashley"...if he was really wanting to cover for his friend ...why not lie and tell people that he heard Gates insulting Crowley's mother? He didn't do that...he doesn't say he heard that.

  • My comments are generalizations only. Being black too has nothing to do with siding with wrong out of fear. Again, these are generalizations. Neither of us were there, so I give my opinion about what I've read & heard and my own experiences just like everyone else on youtube.

  • what does your statement mean..."siding with wrong out of fear"? ...."wrong" hasn't been established here

  • Siding with wrong out of fear means that the silent police code goes before any other issue. If he had witnessed any violations of police procedure, out of fear of being targeted by other fellow officers for not following the code, he would have stood by the officer in the wrong no matter what. That's what I meant by that. AGAIN...my comments are generalizations of these events & my own experiences. I never said anyone on either side did wrong.

  • I think you just "profiled" a cop. ..

  • Well "whoops!"
