I used to have a trike similar to this when I was a kid. That design is super simple and it goes ANYWHERE!!! + it floats, too. We used it to go fishing. The only drawback is load capacity.

You can build this type of wheels using plywood, used tractor tubes and few rubber belts(or even ropes) in few hours.
